Brock Lesnar Returns To WWE SmackDown On 6/17, Attacks Roman Reigns

Brock Lesnar has returned to WWE and is ready to take revenge from Roman Reigns. Brock Lesnar made his return to WWE programming on the 6/17 episode of WWE SmackDown and attacked Roman Reigns having followed the latter’s successful defence of the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship against Riddle.

WWE announced that Lesnar will challenge Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship in a Last Man Standing Match in the main event of this year’s SummerSlam premium live event. WWE SummerSlam will take place at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee on Saturday, July 30th.

Following the conclusion of the episode, WWE declared that Reigns will protect his titles against Lesnar in the main show of this year’s SummerSlam premium live event on July 30 in a Last Man Standing match. This past April, Reigns defeated Lesnar in the main show of night two of WrestleMania 38, a match in which both Reigns’ Universal Title as well as Lesnar’s WWE Title were unified.

The Head of The Table and The Beast Incarnate have faced off 8 times, along with five singles titles, two triple threat matches, and one fatal four-way match. Lesnar upheld the WWE Title against Reigns in their first match at WrestleMania 31 in 2015, but Seth Rollins cashed in his Money In The Bank contract and famously walked out of the event with the WWE Championship.

Reigns and Lesnar face off at Fastlane

The second time Reigns and Lesnar faced off was at Fastlane in 2016, where they competed alongside Dean Ambrose, now AEW’s Jon Moxley, in a triple threat fight won by Lesnar. ‘The Beast’ would defend his WWE Championship against Reigns, Braun Strowman, and Samoa Joe in a fatal four-way match at SummerSlam in 2017.

Lesnar defeated Reigns to maintain the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 34 in 2018. The next time they would square off was inside a steel cage at the 2018 Greatest Royal Rumble event in Saudi Arabia. After launching Reigns through the cage wall, Lesnar contentiously won the match, and both men dripped to the floor below, with Lesnar’s back touching the ground before Reigns’.

Roman Reigns beaten Brock Lesnar for the WWE Championship in the main event of SummerSlam in 2018. Last year, at Crown Jewel, Reigns managed to defend the Universal Title against Lesnar, marking the rivals’ most recent match before this year’s WrestleMania. WWE SummerSlam will be held on Saturday, July 30th at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee.
