BLACKPINK Becomes The First Korean Act To Headline Coachella

On January 11, it was revealed that girl group BLACKPINK would perform at the 2023 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, marking a momentous occasion in K-pop history.

This makes BLACKPINK the first K-pop artist and first-ever girl group to be revealed as a headliner and marks a significant point in their career as singers.

Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa will appear on the stage of the renowned music festival on the second day of the three-day event, which is already being dubbed 2023 PinkChella because to the enormous impact of the BLACKPINK fans, also known as the BLINKs. The same routine will be followed when they return for the second weekend. Their weekend 1 stage is scheduled to take place on Saturday, April 15, while their weekend 2 stage is scheduled for Saturday, April 22.

The female group has already performed at the festival, on April 12 and 19 in 2019, after releasing their third extended play, “Kill This Love,” thus this is not their first appearance.

In addition to performing their well-known songs, the female group also included a fiery solo performance by member Jennie. The superhit song “DDU-DU DDU-DU” opened the performance by BLACKPINK.

The group’s stage for the 2023 edition is anticipated to feature solo performances from each member as well as newer songs like the most recent “Pink Venom” and “Shut Down.” With Rosé’s “R” and its tracks “On The Ground” and “Gone” enjoying widespread acclaim, the solo concerts are something to look forward to. On the other side, fans may anticipate hearing Maknae Lisa’s “LALISA” and “Money,” which were both recognized as K-pop classics. Jisoo’s solo debut has been scheduled for 2023, so fans are eager to get a sneak preview of what they may expect. Jennie also has a new song “You&I” that she has been performing on Born Pink world tour shows.

BLACKPINK is also expected to be announced as a headliner at The Town – Brazil, which will be the third major music festival after Coachella and Hyde Park that they will headline this year.
