Asus ROG 3 Phone Arrives With 6.6″ 144 Hz Screen, S865+ Chipset, Bundled Cooler

Asus ROG Phone 3 has been launched as the company’s latest gaming smartphone. The new model has almost the same dimensions as last year’s ROG Phone 2, yet it comes with various hardware-level upgrades. The Asus ROG Phone 3 comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 865+ SoC and includes a GameCool 3 heat-dissipating system with a redesigned copper 3D vapor chamber and a larger graphite film over what’s available on the existing model. The gaming phone also features AirTrigger 3 ultrasonic buttons and includes dual, front-firing speakers. The ROG Phone 3 also comes with a clip-on AeroActive Cooler 3 accessory that has a kickstand and built-in fan to reduce the surface temperature by up to 4-degree Celsius.

The Asus ROG Phone 3 price in India has been set at $655.12 for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant, while the 12GB RAM + 256GB storage option of the phone carries a price tag of $775.43. The retail package of both models comes bundled with an Aero Case, though the top-end variant also includes the AeroActive Cooler 3 accessory. The retail box of the ROG Phone 3 also includes a 30 Watt ROG Hypercharge Charger and a 3.5mm USB Type-C to 3.5mm adapter.

Alongside the ROG Phone 3, Asus has brought a ROG Kunai 3 Gamepad at $133.68, TwinView Dock 3 at $267.37, Mobile Desktop Dock 2 at $173.79, a Glass Screen Protector at $9.35, a Neon Aero Case at $26.73, and a Lightning Armor Case at $40.09. The company has also launched a ROG Clip that lets you connect the phone to a PlayStation 4, Xbox, or Stadia controller at a price tag of $26.73. The ROG Cetra Headset was launched at $106.95, the ROG Cetra Core at $53.47, and the AeroActive Cooler 3 at $40.10.

The phone’s ultrasonic shoulder buttons have been made more customizable. You can split each into two buttons if you need additional controls or use them as for slide gestures to adjust the game camera’s angle.

The ROG Lighting Armor Case 3 has a new design – the back lights up with the ROG logo. This is fed by an RGB led on the back of the phone and can be synced with the X-Mode that animates the live wallpapers on the screen.

The grips are detachable this time and there’s a carrying case included in the package, making the Kunai easy to transport. If you prefer to use a DualShock or Xbox controller (or others), there’s a Gaming clip.

The ROG Phone 3 houses dual, front-facing speakers powered by ROG GameFX and Dirac HD Sound technologies. There is also Hi-Res audio support. Additionally, the handset has quad microphones with Asus Noise Reduction technology.

In terms of power, the ROG Phone 3 packs a 6,000mAh battery that supports 30W fast charging support. The battery capacity is notably identical to that of the ROG Phone 2. Besides, the new phone measures 171x78x9.85mm and weigh 240 grams.

As with previous generations, there is a Professional Dock that breaks out several USB ports, an HDMI, and Ethernet ports too. The Mobile Desktop Dock does the same, except with even more port (including two Display Ports, one of which can act as input).
