Usher and girlfriend Jenn Goicoechea are expecting their first child together
Usher is going to be a dad again! The eight-time Grammy winning singer and his new girlfriend, record executive, Jenn Goicoechea, are reportedly expecting their first child together. According to reports, the couple is “thrilled and very excited” about this new chapter in their life.
The happy news comes just as Usher and Jenn prepare to celebrate their one-year anniversary. The former “Voice” coach and Jenn first sparked dating rumors back in October 2019 when they were seen backstage in a cozy display at the Hollywood Bowl.
Photographer Jennifer Johnson snapped a picture of the duo at the same event, writing on Instagram, “Cause she’s such a good kisser! Caught a rare moment with @usher backstage the other day. I stay catching moments like these boys be catching feelings!”
The couple later attended Sean ‘Puff Daddy’ Combs‘ star-studded 50th birthday together in December. Then, heading into the 2020 award season, the couple was seen attending numerous A-list events, like the Vanity Fair after party and more. Usher and Jenn have been fiercely private about their romance, but that’s how Usher has operated in almost all of his relationships.
Recently spotted together
The 41-year-old and his girlfriend, 36, were recently spotted on Saturday at Kreation Organic Juicery in West Hollywood. Jenn put her growing baby bump on display in a blue hoodie, paired with matching blue sweatpants and floral sandals.
Jenn is a big noise in the music industry and is currently the Vice President of A&R at Epic Records. She is reportedly looking after chart-topping artists like Travis Scott, 21 Savage, Yo Gotti, Rick Ross, Mariah Carey, Meghan Trainor and Madison Beer.
Starting a family together seems to be working wonders for the pair as they were also recently spotted looking happy as they walk arm-in-arm in the photo, with their matching Louis Vuitton face masks on point.
Usher’s Past Relationships
Their baby will join older brothers Usher and Naviyd, who the singer previously welcomed with ex-wife Tameka Foster. They were married from 2007 to 2009. He married the stylist in 2007, but the pair eventually divorced in 2009. Though their divorce proceedings were contentious, the exes appear to be on good terms these days.
“After much thought and consideration we have mutually decided to separate as a couple”
After his first marriage fell apart, Usher married his manager and long time girlfriend Grace Miguel, 51, in September of 2015. Their relationship lasted for nearly 10 years, two of which they were married, but came to an amicable end in 2018.
“After much thought and consideration we have mutually decided to separate as a couple,” Usher and Grace revealed in a statement at the time. “We remain deeply connected, loving friends who will continue supporting each other through the next phases of our lives.” It continued, “The enormous amount of love and respect that we have for each other will only increase as we move forward.”
Inspiration behind his tracks and the reported feud
On June 26, earlier this year, Raymond, released his latest single, “I Cry.” In an interview at the time, the R&B singer admitted that his sons were the inspiration behind the lyrics to the track. He explained how he wanted to teach them that it’s OKAY for a man to cry and “to feel emotions deeply.” He added that he also drew further inspiration when “thinking of all the sons who lost their fathers to police brutality, social injustice and violence.” Going off of that, Usher is donating all proceeds from the song to a nonprofit that assists community organizations and minority-owned small businesses called Local Initiatives Support Corporation.
Early in his career, Raymond dropped a pair of albums before the 2000s before “8701” came out in 2001 and his breakthrough, “Confessions,” in 2004. In total he has eight studio albums with his latest coming in 2016. It’s rumored that another album stemming from “Confessions” will be his next album to be released.
Usher has been long-rumored to be in a feud with The Weeknd, but the star recently opened up about what really went on between them.
