Video of Ishan Kishan : 4 Balls 4 Fours : MI vs SRH

MI vs SRH, 08 October 2021, 07:30 PM IST

Ishan Kishan scored the fastest 50 of IPL 2021. He brought up his 50 in just 16 balls.

Ishan Kishan scored fifty-two in the arc between deep midwicket and long-on. In all, 65 on the leg side and 19 on the off side, with 11 fours and four sixes.

Suryakumar Yadav | MI: “Nothing changes, everything remains the same, all routines, all processes same. You get up, you follow everything, whatever you have been doing for the last 8-10 years, so everything remains the same.

Contribution for the team – that has been a little disturbing from my side because since the last 2-3 seasons I have been always trying to be there whenever the team required. This year I have not been part of contributions so that’s been hurting a lot more. But the show must go on.

Staying consistent is the key at this point of my career. Trying to be always there whenever the team requires and contributing to the team’s victory – that’s the most important thing which I have been working on. (On today’s encounter) We’ll see, let’s go all out and decide what’s gonna happen.”

Most runs in Powerplay (IPL)

74 A Gilchrist vs DC Centurion 2009

62 D Warner v KKR Hyderabad 2017

MI need to win by 171 runs or more and score more than 200 to go past KKR’s net run rate of +0.587. They, however, will be eliminated if they chase. Considering the fact that MI are the most successful franchise in history, the other three teams wouldn’t ideally want to see the men in blue again in the final stages of the tournament with two of them chasing their maiden title.

Abhishek Sharma | SRH: “The biggest frustration so far was waiting for my chance. When you’re trying your best in the nets and through the domestic season as well, you need to find your place in the playing XI but SRH is a very big team in IPL, so I had to try very hard for my position.

They are giving opportunities now, I have to avail all of them. Our coaching staff have been helping all the youngsters including me, Priyam, Samad and now Umran. I have been talking with Yuvraj Singh a lot about cricket in the past two years.

He’s been helping a lot about these wickets and IPL stuff. I was batting down the order (in U-19s) but for now I am getting to bat above, getting more chances.”

Pollard was on six when a Sid Kaul delivery skidded in and thudded into his pads. He was reluctant to review it as it looked out in real time. There was no bat involved and it hit him right in front of the stumps. Hesitantly, he asked for a review.

It looked out on the first replay too. Pollard saw that on the big screen and started walking. He was near the boundary line, waiting for the third red when the ball-tracker surprised everyone by showing the ball would have gone over the stumps.

Pollard, though, could add only seven more to his tally before falling to a ploy that has been used against him previously too. Manish Pandey stationed Jason Roy at a very straight long-on. Abhishek Sharma went fuller and Pollard hit it straight to Roy, who fumbled twice before latching on to it.
