Tawny Kitaen starred as the girlfriend of Tom Hanks’ in 1984 comedy ‘Bachelor Party’. She has also wrote about her drug abuse struggles in ‘Celebrity Rehab.’

Actress Tawny Kitaen died at the age of 59. The Californian was known for appearing in the field of 80s music and movies, especially alongside Tom Hanks of the 1984 Bachelor Party.

Tawny was listed as Tawny Finley by the Orange County Treasurer’s Office, who said that she died at her home in Newport Beach on Friday, May 8, according to Variety.

She Lived In South California All Her Life

Tawny was born on Julie E. “Tawny” Kitaen on August 5, 1961 in San Diego, California. Tawny was one of three children born to her parents Terry and Linda Taylor Kitaen.

After leaving Mission Bay High School, she moved to Los Angeles to study acting. She lived in Southern California all his life.

Tawny Kitaen Struggled With Cocaine Addiction

Tawny was open about her extreme struggles with drug abuse, especially cocaine.

She was charged with possession of a drug in November 2006 in her home in Orange County, which resulted in her entering a six-month rehabilitation center.

As a result of the completion of the program, her case of drug possession was dropped.

In 2009, Tawny was arrested for drunken driving, after which she was sentenced to two days in jail and 64 hours of community service. She has written about her struggles in journals such as Celebrity Rehab and Dr Drew in 2009.

Peter Frampton Encouraged Her To Pursue Acting

Tawny decided to pursue a career in entertainment after seeing Peter Frampton at Balboa Stadium in San Diego when she was just 14. The budding star got a first-hand look at the “VIP” lifestyle with a backstage pass, TMZ says.

In addition to the 1984 Bachelor Party, Tawny starred in films such as White Hot, Dead Tides and Witchboard – and even appeared in Seinfeld’s episode “The One With The Nose Job.”

In addition to the movies, she appeared in a music video gallery – including RATT’s “Back for More” and Whitesnake’s “Here I Go Again” in 1987 with her former husband David Cloverdale. Other music video credits include “Still of the Night,” “Is This Love” and “Deep Love.”

Tawny Married Twice

Tawny married musician and Whitesnake lead singer David Coverdale in Feb. 1989, however, the pair divorced in 1991. She later married Los Angeles Angels (then the California Angels) star Chuck Finley in 1997.

The couple welcomed two daughters together, Wynter in March 1993 (now 28), and Raine in 1998 (now 22). Tawny and Chuck divorced in 2002.
