The Duffer Brothers, along with Shawn Levy and Dan Cohen (of 21 Laps Entertainment) and Iain Paterson, continue to serve as head writers and executive producers behind the scenes. Several episodes of the nine-episode fourth season are directed by Levy and The Duffer Brothers. The Duffer Brothers’ Monkey Massacre Productions and Levy and Cohen’s 21 Laps Entertainment are working on Stranger Things 4.

To maximise on audience excitement, Netflix often promotes its titles within a few months of their launch. However, as one of Netflix’s long-running blockbusters, “Stranger Things” has a far longer advertising window, with the first teaser premiering in February 2020.

Soon after, the global pandemic stopped Season 4 production for many months; filming resumed in the fall of 2020, lasting the better part of the year. Netflix issued a cryptic teaser for Season 4 of “Stranger Things” in May, focusing on Eleven’s (Millie Bobby Brown) youth; in August, the streaming service confirmed Season 4 would premiere in 2022 with a brief 30-second teaser.

Stranger Things 4 will premiere on Netflix in India and around the world in 2022.
