The filming for The Batman has stopped as Robert Pattinson tested positive for Coronavirus.
According to an entertainment portal, Robert has tested positive for the novel coronavirus which has halted the filming of his highly-anticipated movie, The Batman.
The news of the actor’s illness comes after Warner Bros. confirmed that will be delaying production because a crew member tested positive. They informed that a crew member has tested positive and is in isolation. WB added that the filming is temporarily paused.
However, the network refused to release the identity of the person because of privacy concerns. This will be the second time Matt Reeves has to stop production while filming The Batman. Back in March, they had to stop production because of the coronavirus pandemic that put a stop to everything.
Robert had said at the time that he was isolating with his girlfriend, Suki Waterhouse, in a London apartment. “Literally, I’m just barely doing anything,” he told the outlet, noting that he’s mostly ignored his trainer, also hired for him by The Batman crew.
Even under the circumstances, Matt was able to put together a rather thrilling trailer for The Batman for a DC FanDome event back in August. The director said they could film 25 percent of the movie most of which was showcased in the trailer.
The highly anticipated trailer of The Batman was released during the virtual event, DC FanDome. Robert made a surprise appearance at the beginning of the movie’s panel before the fans went wild over his new role.
“It’s kind of insane” – Robert
The actor said that they were in the beginning stages of production when the novel coronavirus hit. He revealed he is really nervous to go back to work and continue to play the “beloved” character. “I’ve always been a massive fan,” the 34-year-old star said, which was captured and shared on YouTube by fans.
Robert said he is not really allowed to reveal much and he hands it over to Matt Reeves. He said Matt can determine what can and cannot be said. The actor continued, “But I do know that if you stick around to the end… there’s a cool surprise.”
After the trailer released, revealing that the movie will take place with the iconic superhero. However, Matt revealed that 25 percent of the filming is done. In the short clip, Robert wasn’t the only famous face on-screen. Zoë Kravitz was spotted in her Catwoman suit, while an unrecognizable Colin Farrell transformed into the Penguin.
It is still unclear when the movie will be released. However, the studio cleverly used question marks in a few places of the actual numbers. It is anticipated to be released by next year.
Last year in an interview, Robert opened about his shock of getting the part just like his fans. “It’s kind of insane,” he told Esquire U.K. in October 2019. “I was so far away from ever thinking it was a realistic prospect. I literally do not understand how I’ve got it, at all.”
Matt Revealed The Official Logo of The Batman
Matt Reeves, the director of The Batman, revealed it’s first look at the logo on Thursday. The director took to Twitter to share the first look of the logo with fans and also revealed Robert Pattinson’s artwork. Matt had also teased more information on the movie at FanDome. The event is going to take place on Saturday.

The director said he is very excited to share the very first look at The Batman logo. He added that he is sharing the DC FanDome artwork by Jim Lee as well.
The movie was seven weeks into its filming schedule when the production had to stop. There are approximately three months of material left to shoot with Robert Pattinson as the lead role. It was claimed that the film might be finished by the end of the year, but it is still unclear.
Variety also reported that the crew has been busy building new sets for the movie throughout August. The Batman would have released sooner but the anticipated release date is October 2021. Earlier in the year, Matt confirmed that the production had to be stopped because of the global pandemic.
Warner Bros. informed at the time, that the break will last for two weeks while Matt confirmed the halt in the production. ‘Yes, we have shut down till it is safe for us all to resume,’ he stated in a tweet.
A statement at the time read: ‘Warner Bros. Pictures feature production of ‘The Batman‘ will be on a two-week hiatus starting today. The studio will continue to monitor the situation closely.’ Zoe Kravitz will appear as Catwoman, while Andy Serkis will play Bruce Wayne’s butler Alfred Pennyworth.
