Sofia Richie and her ex Jaden Smith were seen enjoying an affectionate beach day weeks after Richie’s split from her boyfriend of three years, Scott Disick. The pair were spotted having a jolly good time frolicking on the beach.
Richie was seen getting in the water wearing a hot pink floral bikini which she accessorized with a couple of bracelets and necklaces. Jaden, ever the fashion icon, matched her in his hot pink swim trunks. Safe to say, the two made for quite a good looking pair. Sofia also practiced proper Covid-19 safety measures by arriving at the beach in a leopard print face mask. The pair didn’t hold back on the PDA either. At one point, the two young stars were seen sharing a hug and holding hands while splashing about in the water.
“They spent the afternoon playing on the beach together with friends. But Sofia and Jaden only had eyes for each other,” an insider shared. When the duo wasn’t splashing around, they were enjoying “cocktails” and a “picnic.”

Another source revealed that Richie and Smith “both loved hanging out” this Labor Day weekend. Anyone could see the chemistry they had going on.
“Sofia is having a fun summer,” said the source. “She stays with friends in Malibu and enjoys the beach. There have been guys around that she acted flirty with, but she doesn’t seem to be dating.”
“The vibe was different over the weekend though when she hung out with Jaden,” the source adds. “They spent hours together on the beach. They kept flirting and hugging. Sofia looked very happy.” All in all, the chemistry between the two seemed to be off-the-charts.

But the day didn’t end when the sun went down. After their outing at the beach, the pair dried off and changed before enjoying dinner with their friends at popular celebrity hot spot, Nobu. “It was obvious that they both loved hanging out. Jaden had his arm around Sofia and she had a huge smile.” The model had her tresses up for the occasion and wore a long-sleeved black maxi dress while Jaden was also seen wearing dark clothing.
“They stayed for several hours and left together in a Sprinter van. Sofia was in a great mood and never stopped smiling,” the source shares. “She seems to be having a lot of fun and is very happy. According to sources, Richie and Jaden went back to a friend’s house for the night.
Sofia and Scott’s Split
News of Sofia and Jaden’s latest outings come after the two had a brief romance in 2012, when they were both just 14. However, their relationship ran its course by early 2013.
Sofia, who is newly single, officially ended things with her more recent longtime boyfriend of three years, Scott Disick. With whom she briefly reunited with this summer following a break earlier this year. According to reports, the former couple parted ways as they had different priorities and couldn’t make their relationship work.
“They have been off and on for two months,” an insider revealed at the time. “Sofia really pushed to make things work between them after they initially broke up. But Scott officially called it off recently and they are no longer speaking.”
According to several reports, Scott and Sofia’s 15 year age difference played a part in their split. “He’s in a very different place in his life, really focused on a more quiet lifestyle, his kids and his investment businesses. And Sofia [is] really still trying to figure what she wants to do which drove them apart over time.” Disick shares three kids, sons Reign, 5, and Mason, 10, and daughter Penelope, 8 , with his ex, Kourtney Kardashian.
“Scott’s focus is his health and the kids,” added another insider. “Sofia wants to hang out with friends and enjoy the summer. Since they are no longer on the same page, they decided to just be apart. At least for now.”
Celebrating her 22nd birthday
Ever since her breakup, Richie has been spotted out and about, looking to make the most out of the situation by spending time with her friends. The model recently celebrated her 22rd birthday in Cabo San Lucas. Where she stayed with eight of her friends in a beautiful beach side compound. She also treated her 6.5 million Instagram followers to a variety of bikini pictures during their stay there.
“Sofia’s friends wanted to make it really special for her and she was so excited to get away to celebrate,” a source revealed. “Sofia expressed she wanted a chill birthday but wanted to be somewhere other than L.A. She just wants to drink, dance and party at the house, and is excited she’s with her closest friends.”
According to some sources, Scott actually reached out to wish Sofia a happy birthday, “but that was the extent of it. They aren’t on speaking terms at all.”
