Selena Gomez Celebrates Blackpink Collab With Special New Serendipity Ice Cream Flavor

Selena Gomez’s “Ice Cream” collaboration with Blackpink is arriving later this week, and what better way to celebrate than with some actual ice cream? In anticipation of the release, the 28 year old singer announced that she’s releasing a new ice cream flavor, as owner of New York’s popular Serendipity3.

Ice cream brand, Serendipity and the iconic Serendipity3 Restaurants announced on Monday, Aug. 24, its newest investor and ice cream flavor with Gomez. The pint, called Cookies & Cream Remix inspired by the upcoming collab, is made with pink vanilla ice cream, crunchy cookie bites and gobs of gooey fudge.

“So, basically, it’s heaven, and every bite is delicious”

In an Instagram video announcing the flavor, Gomez is seen eating it in the best way possible, by the spoonful straight out of the container. “So, basically, it’s heaven, and every bite is delicious.” the singer said of the chocolate-y cookie goodness that she helped create in celebration of their song.

“I couldn’t be more excited!”

“I grew up going to the iconic @serendipity3nyc restaurant so I couldn’t be more excited to join the ownership team,” she wrote. “In honor of the release of ICE CREAM with @blackpinkofficial, I created Cookies and Cream Remix. I wanted to put my own personal spin on this classic flavor by making it with pink vanilla ice cream as a nod to my girls!”

The iconic flagship eatery on New York’s Upper East Side was founded in 1954 by Stephen Bruce. Marilyn Monroe and Andy Warhol were regulars, as was Jacqueline Kennedy. There’s also Serendipity locations in Tokyo and Boca Raton, Florida.

“Selena Gomez is the perfect partner and flavor engineer for Serendipity Brands”

“Selena Gomez is the perfect partner and flavor engineer for Serendipity Brands,” Sal Pesce, President and COO of Serendipity Brands, mirrored. “As a forever fan of our brand, Selena brings a fresh perspective and a whole new set of fans to help us take over the decadent ice cream category with our innovative, indulgent mixes.”

Cookies & Cream Remix will be available on the “Ice Cream” collab’s release date, August 28. In supermarkets, convenience stores and other food retailers across the country. It will also be made available online at SerendipityBrands.com.

Announcing The New Song

“Ice Cream” has been a highly-anticipated addition to the summer’s music catalog. Ever since Gomez announced it’s impending release earlier this month. Last month, the “How You Like That” group teased the single alongside an unannounced collaborator. On Aug. 12, the group revealed that Gomez would join the girl group on the track.

“So SO excited to announce @BlackPinkOfficial and I have a new song coming out August 28th!” wrote Gomez on Instagram earlier this month announcing the new song. The song drops the same day as Gomez’s new Serendipity ice cream flavor cookies & cream remix. Which she announced on Instagram Monday. She has teased the much anticipated song several times since then.

“I’ve been a fan of you guys so this is a big, big dream for me”

The “Lose you to love me” singer caught up with the beloved K-pop stars for a chat. In a teaser video posted Sunday, Selena Gomez video chats with the BLACKPINK members. Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé and Lisa about their new song “Ice Cream” out Friday.

“We’re really glad that you’re on it because we’ve been a big fan of you for a long time.” Rosé tells Gomez in the clip. “I’m so stoked,” Gomez replies back, “I’ve been a fan of you guys so this is a big, big dream for me.” Gomez’s words warmed BLACKPINK’s heart as the girls were seen exclaiming “Oh my god!” and generally being flustered.

Both Gomez and BLACKPINK have also shared some art for the song. With Selena sharing what looks like two photos of herself presumably being shot for the song’s music video.

Previous Blackpink Collaborations

This isn’t the first time the popular korean girl group has collaborated with English-singing artists. Lady Gaga featured the group on Chromatica’s “Sour Candy” and Dua Lipa welcomed them on “Kiss and Make Up.” Both of which peaked at No. 33 on the chart.

“Ice Cream” will be featured on the group’s second full-length album Blackpink: The Album. Which is set for release on October 2 via YG Entertainment and Interscope Records.

Selena’s latest Projects

Apart from the much anticipated Blackpink Collab, Selena has a lot going on for her at the moment as well. Gomez recently premiered a new cooking show, “Selena + Chef,” on HBO Max. She will also be starring in the upcoming Hulu comedy series, “Only Murders in the Building. Opposite Steve Martin and Martin Short. The series is about three strangers who are true crime fans that suddenly find themselves wrapped up in one.
