Scarlet Witch Assembles Her Own Avengers Team To Hunt The Darkhold

The Darkhold is returning and the Scarlet Witch aka Wanda Maximoff is assembling her own team of Avengers to stop it. This is a special, unlettered preview for Darkhold Alpha #1 where the character senses the presence of the evil book. She brings together a group of heroes to stop its influence on the world.

The Darkhold is the most powerful magical object in the Marvel Universe and it is also known as the Book of Sin. This has a collection of all the evil spells and was written by the evil god Chthon. The book was the reason why vampires and werewolves exist in the MCU as there are other dark deeds as well.

There is also a series which is devoted to the Darkhold from 1992 to 1994. The book made its appearance recently in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It was seen in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., WandaVision and Runaways and it will be back in Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness.

But in the Marvel Comics Universe in Darkhold Alpha #1, the Darkhold makes the life of heroes miserable. It is written by Steve Orlando with art by Cian Tormey. Scarlet Witch is awakened by sensing the presence of the Darkhold as she senses something is wrong. The next page sees Scarlet Witch bringing in Doctor Doom and the third page sees her assembled team.

Scarlet brings in Spider-Man, Iron Man, the Wasp, Black Bolt, and Blade. The team has to read from the pages of the Darkhold to enter the Darkhold Dimension. However, it means they have to risk their insanity and the preview sees the team coming under the influence of the book.

Darkhold is capable of creating monsters and condemning innocents to eternal damnation. To fight the Darkhold, one will have to read from it but even that comes at a high price. If the team assembled by Scarlet Witch has been compromised, how will she defeat it? Only time will tell if the team of Avengers along with Scarlet Witch can be successful.
