Linda Tripp was a career civil servant and worked as the secretary for the military for two decades. She became an employee in the White House in 1990. Linda was in the White House for two years when Bill Clinton won and was transferred to Pentagon’s public affairs house.
Back in 1996, the former employee had met Monica, who was in an affair with the president for two-years. The duo became close and she started sharing details of the tortured affair with the married man. Linda shared this information with her literary agent who advised her to record their conversations.
The former White House employee recorded 22 hours of Monica’s confessions and handed it over to independent counsel Ken Starr. Bill was impeached for lying under the oath and for obstruction of justice. However, he was acquitted by the Senate.
Meanwhile, Linda was accused of being a duplicitous woman who betrayed her friend and was fired on her last day of Bill’s presidency. The former employee refused to resign and ran a holiday store in Virginia.
