Riverdale’s Madelaine Petsch Says Her Mental Health Was At An All-Time Low

Madelaine Petsch opened up about a time in her life that was very difficult for her. In his interview with Flaunt, she talked about mental health struggles that she experienced last year.

The actress had gone through a split from Travis Mills amid the coronavirus pandemic which affected her health. She shared that her mental health was at an all-time low as every day was a challenge. The Riverdale star shared, “Every day was definitely a challenge and therapy was absolutely key for me to keep sane.”

She shared how her best friend moved in with her and that was also a big game-changer for her mental health. The actress explained that she found ways to be creative while staying positive and reading books. She shared that she read this book, Vibrate Higher Daily and it was all about radiating positivity.

Madelaine said, “I found ways to be creative while staying positive and reading books. I read this book called Vibrate Higher Daily, and it’s basically about how to radiate positivity. And I found more books to help me navigate.”

The actress shared how being in lockdown during the pandemic also did not help her anxiety at all. She explained that it took her five months through the entire pandemic to get back to an okay mental state. The Riverdale actress talked about facing a lot of anxiety over quarantine and feeling like without a job, she questioned her identity.

“There are days where I was really struggling”

“I’m saying this because I don’t want anyone to feel like they’re alone. I’m in the same boat and I feel it, and I’m right there with them,” she added. The actress shared that meditation, journaling, and speaking to friends and family kept her focused and helped her mental stress.

She said that there were days where she was really struggling to remember three things that she was grateful for. The actress shared, “Even though there are days where I was really struggling, just to remember three things that I was grateful for — whether that be the roof over my head, or the food in my mouth—to start and end the day with really changed my mindset.”

Madelaine had dated Travis for three years after the musician announced their split last February. He had posted a photo of him and the actress on Instagram as he announced their split. The musician wrote how much it hurts him that their journey has come to an end. He said he is incredibly grateful to have spent the last 3 years with someone like Madelaine.

“While it pains me our journey has come to a close, I mean it when I say I’m so incredibly grateful to have shared the last 3 years with someone as compassionate, smart & wonderful as Madelaine. The personal growth made possible by our time together I wouldn’t trade for anything,” Travis wrote.

The musician further wrote that there is a ton of privilege being able to do what they do but it also includes a lot of challenges. He said they were in it together and it challenged him and kept him honest, compassionate and helped him do some necessary growing up. “The highest highs were made better, the lowest lows were livable, because of her. I’ve learned so much about myself & life from that unconditional love and support.”

Travis further wrote how he is holding back tears while writing this and is excited for what Madelaine will be doing next. He said that he will always have her back and said that he will not be deleting their pictures together of his social media accounts. The musician concluded by saying he does not regret anything.
