It looks like the race franchise owners are set to advance the franchise.
After Race 3 evidently didn’t do as well as expected at the box office, it was unclear whether the franchise would get a fourth sequel. However, it seems that not only is this happening but the team has planned to get it done by the end of the year.
According to Indian entertainment tabloids, the next sequel of Race, Race 4 is currently in the writing (scripting) phase.
Shiraz Ahmed has worked in all three installments and will be working in the fourth one as well.
The report stated that producer Ramesh Taurani will be roping in the director soon and the selection of cast members will only take place once the script is ready.
However, depending on the COVID-19 situation, they will take the call and roll out the project by end of the year.
So far, it is not made clear to the fans whether Saif Ali Khan, who was the lead in the first two installments of the movie, will be appearing as lead in the fourth stage as well or whether Salman Khan, who led the screen in Race 3, will take the franchise further.
The first two films were directed by Abbas-Mustan, and the third was directed by Remo D’Souza.
Salman Khan is expected to make the announcement for two of his big-budget films as well as already having four existing films in the pipeline.
Salman Khan has Antim-The Final Truth, Tiger 3, Kabhi Id Kabhi Diwali and Kick 2 in the pipeline.
The actor is set to announce movie Bhajan, previously titled Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali for release on Bakri-Eid, the 21st of July.
