Oscar Isaac In Talks To Star In Marvel’s Moon Knight

Oscar Isaac might be joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe yet again as he is in talks to star as Moon Knight.

Jeremy Slater, who wrote Netflix’s iconic Umbrella Academy’s adaption; has been brought on board to develop and lead the writing team. This will mark a return for Oscar as he has previously been a part of Marvel’s X-Men Apocalypse.

If you cannot recall seeing him in the superhit franchise, it is because he was the blue-skinned villain; who leads the group to take over the Earth. Moon Knight debuted back in 1975 in Werewolf by Night #32. The character is Marc Spector, who is an ex-marine turned mercenary who has multiple alter egos.

This allows the character to fight crime in a better way. His multiple alter-egos include cabbie Jake Lockley and millionaire playboy Steven Grant. However, way ahead in the comics, the character is established as being a conduit for the Egyptian moon god Khonshu.

Over the years, writers have transformed the character as someone who has multiple personas but also a fractured mental state. The casting of Moon Knight will conclude the final run of Marvel Originals for Disney + if the deal is signed.

Recently, Tatiana Maslany signed on to be the She-Hulk. Along with her, Iman Vellani has also been named as Ms. Marvel. Marvel Studios is growing its cinematic universe through Disney +. The trailer for Marvel’s WandaVision was released recently as well.

The series starring Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany is set to release later this year. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and Tom Hiddleston’s Loki are both working to complete the production; after being interrupted because of the ongoing pandemic.

Oscar is no stranger to entering a franchise as he has been a part of X-men as well as the latest Star Wars trilogy. He has also been a part of Annihilation, Ex Machina, and Inside Llewyn Davis. The actor has also been a part of the post-credits of Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse, making his cameo as Miguel O’Hara.

He will also appear in the adaption of Dune by Denis Villeneuve which is set to open in October next year. Oscar will also be a part of James Gray’s Armageddon Time and is prepping for the shoot.
