The new trailer for Eternals showcases how powerful each hero is. Chloe Zhao’s upcoming MCU blockbuster will be here in a month as Marvel Studios returns to the big screen. This movie is set to introduce a whole new bunch of superheroes.
Their arrival is expected to bring in big changes in the MCU and the overall power hierarchy. Eternals was announced during Marvel Studios’ San Diego Comic-Con panel back in 2019. It was one of the projects that were confirmed after the Infinity Saga. The film revolves around a group of powerful beings who have been on Earth for thousands of years as they emerge to neutralize the attack of the Deviants.
The Eternals are created by Celestials and they are immortal which makes sense for the movie’s narrative to cover thousands of years. The main storyline will be taking place as an aftermath of Avengers: Endgame with Hulk’s reverse snap being the catalyst to what they call the divergence.
As it introduces a new group of superheroes, there is a lot of interest among audiences to learn more about Eternals. A new teaser has now revealed some fresh looks at some of them using their respective powers. Phastos played by Brian Tyree Henry was seen throwing some magical weapons towards an unknown enemy. There was Gilgamesh played by Dong-seok Ma, who powered his fists and then punches a possible Deviant in the face.
Meanwhile, there is Kingo played by Kumail Nanjiani who fires up a powerful blast and Makkari played by Lauren Ridloff showing off her super speed. Finally, there is Sersi played by Gemma Chan who uses her powers to manipulate matter against fallen volcano debris. The clip also sees Angelina Jolie’s Thena wielding her energy staff.
Eternals Have Not Revealed Ajak’s Powers Yet
It should be noted that the Eternals did share a set of superpowers in the comics. If Marvel decides to stick to the comics then the heroes will be capable of super strength, teleportation, telepathy, telekinesis and shooting cosmic rays out of their eyes and hands. And if this is the case, then it is safe to assume they are the most powerful beings being introduced in the franchise.
However, the trailers have not yet revealed the powers of Salma Hayek’s Ajak. She has the ability to communicate with the Celestials but there might be other abilities too. Marvel Studios introduced a new group of superheroes with Guardians of the Galaxy in 2014. Naturally, fans are thrilled to know more about these new characters. Like Shang-Chi, these new heroes have yet to appear in any other project in the MCU.
Eternals have been perceived positively so far as many people are expecting it to become one of the best movies that Marvel has made. However, we will all find out what’s on the other side in a month.
