Jessica Batten and Mark Cuevas have both gone Instagram official with their new relationships with different partners.
Jessica was the first one to show off her boyfriend in a Fourth of July post on Saturday. The reality star debuted her new boyfriend Dr. Benjamin McGrath on Instagram while seeming very happy in the photo that she posted.
Jessica Batten is well-known for her stint in the reality show ‘Love Is Blind‘. In the show, she was struggling between two men, Mark Cuevas and Matt Barnett. She eventually chose Mark Cuevas and dated him on the show and later left him on the altar.
Jessica posted photos of herself with new flame Benjamin cuddling up with each other. She looked vivacious in a red patterned off-the-shoulder top, while he wore a gray shirt. Jessica captioned it by starting by wishing Happy Fourth. She continued saying freedom isn’t free.
Jessica further wrote she is thankful for being able to allow her heart to choose happiness. She continued saying for the people who have asked this is why she said she would do it all over again. Jessica was referencing ‘Love Is Blind’. She later said she can’t wait to share some of their adventures.
Jessica also shared a picture with Benjamin donning a USA shirt while aboard a sailboat. Benjamin is a podiatrist. He has two children and he is based out of California.
Jessica later revealed on her Instagram stories that she met Benjamin while riding bikes which became one of their favorite activities as a couple. She further went on to reveal a little more information about her relationship in her comments section. Jessica revealed they have been together for 4 months and that they have been hiding out during quarantine.
Another one of the commenters asked if Benjamin was 24 or 34. This is a reference to Love Is Blind as Jessica kept mentioning the age difference between her and Mark Cuevas on the show. Mark was 24 at the time. She responded to the comment saying Benjamin was 34 at the time of filming so it is exactly what she was looking for.
However, a troll commented saying Benjamin might not have watched Netflix and that is the only logical explanation. But Jessica snapped back saying he has watched more of it than she has.
This came after her former fiance Mark’s new romance blew up online. He reportedly began dating another former contestant named Lauren ‘LC’ Chamblin, after his failed relationship with Jessica. Although after a Reddit post, Mark was allegedly cheating on LC.
A Reddit post claimed that he was dating another woman long-distance which LC stumbled upon. She commented that she was dating him since the beginning of May but she said she broke it off with him. LC said she appreciates them posting this and saving her energy in dating another liar.
‘This is awkward because I live in Atlanta and I’ve been dating mark since the beginning of May….,’ Lauren commented. ‘But I just broke it off with mark so I do appreciate you posting this and saving me the energy on dating another liar.’
Jessica also commented on the alleged news of Mark sleeping with multiple women at the studio he trained, during the show. She exclaimed with surprise saying wow. Jessica claimed she knew about only one. Mark has responded to these claims and denied dating anyone else during Love Is Blind.
Mark responded saying he enjoyed his time with LC but at no point were they in an exclusive relationship. He further said he wishes her the best.
After the show, Jessica earned the name ‘Messica’ because of her messy relationship with Mark. She kept their relationship going until they were at the altar. Jessica seemed very interested in Matt Barnett, another contestant who she was talking to in the booth. Matt was engaged to Amber Pike, who he ended up marrying.
Jessica was flirting with Matt behind Amber’s back though she denied it before giving Amber a bizarre kiss on the lips. One of the contestants, Lauren Speed said Jessica was responsible for her own nickname. Lauren further said that night was a mess. She said mess rhymes with Jess, so then Messica was born.
Jessica appeared to have a messy behavior throughout while some blame it on the alcohol others say she is Messica. Few fans were outraged when they saw Jessica giving wine to her pet dog during an episode and she continued to drink it herself.
Jessica later apologized for that and claimed she was nervous on camera which led her to do that. It was the first time she gave her dog wine. She said there is a reason why there is so much alcohol around during reality shows.
She said, ‘Sometimes you loosen up and these moments can kind of come out. I really wish that I would have been better about drinking for me. I was really uncomfortable and so I had a few moments where I overdrank.’
However, Mark Cuevas posted a photo of him cuddled up with a mystery woman. He simply captioned the picture writing ‘Thankful’. Instead of revealing her identity, Mark tagged her saying ‘nope’.
Netflix renewed Love Is Blind for season 2 in March.
