Logic Announces Retirement Along-with Upcoming Release of New Album No Pressure
Grammy nominated Rapper, Logic, has announced that he’ll be retiring from his music career with the release of his sixth and final studio album, ‘No Pressure.’
On Thursday night, the Homicide rapper announced the release date for his much-anticipated sixth studio album, No Pressure, which will be out on Friday, July 24. What fans didn’t see coming was that his forthcoming album would be his last.
“It’s been a great decade, Now it’s time to be a great father”
“Officially announcing my retirement with the release of No Pressure, executive produced by No I.D. July 24th,” the Sucker for Pain singer wrote on Twitter.
“It’s been a great decade,” he added. “Now it’s time to be a great father.” In August 2019, Logic, whose real name is Sir Robert Bryson Hall II, unleashed his No Pressure freestyle, in which he revealed Noell was pregnant with their first child.
“And I’m having a little baby,” he said at the end of the rap. “Surprise! It’s a little baby boy, f*** TMZ they can’t get the scoop on that shit.”
A month later the musician confirmed that he was married to Brittney Noell. Logic and Noell were first linked shortly after the rapper’s split from his wife of two years, Jessica Andrea. Logic divorced Jessica Andrea in September 2018, after two years of marriage. He confirmed the split earlier that year in a message posted to social media, stating, “it just didn’t work out.”
His Instagram has now been wiped clean of all his posts, leaving his most recent post announcing his retirement and final album.
Logic’s past albums and collaborations
No Pressure, the sequel to his 2014 debut, Under Pressure, will arrive more than a year after his fifth studio album, Confessions Of A Dangerous Mind, dropped in 2019.
Confessions Of A Dangerous Mind was quite the star-studded album, with collaborations featuring Eminem, Gucci Mane, YBN Cordae, G-Eazy, Wiz Khalifa and Will Smith.
Apart from his fifth album, Logic also released a novel in 2019, called Supermarket, which made him the first rapper to write a New York Times #1 bestseller.
“This new perspective of life has been amazing”
The rapper teased No Pressure in a Reddit post earlier this year, telling fans the album would find him returning to his classic sound.
“I love you all and am excited for No Pressure. Bars on bars on bars,” he wrote. “This new perspective of life has been amazing. Mainly spending time with family and little Bobby and just cooking up. But I wanted to let you know how much I appreciate you all. It’s just so fun experimenting and having fun with all music. But this next one’s back to the roots for sure and I can’t wait for you to hear it when the time is right. Little Bobby boy is so cute and the most adorable little man in da worlds! Lol seriously tho, keep supporting and know I’m always here to be that voice.”
The rapper seemingly hinted that his first child will be named Robert, when he raps, “Welcome little Bobby to the world.” Naming his son Robert wouldn’t come as a shock, considering it’s a family name that both Logic and his father share.
