Lil Loaded, Dallas Rapper Behind ‘6locc 6a6y,’ Dies at 20
The attorney for Lil Loaded confirmed that the rapper has passed away in an email to Billboard on May 31. Ashkan Mehyari, the attorney revealed that the death was a result of suicide.
Lil Loaded’s real name was Dashawn Robertson and he was known for his viral track, ‘6locc 6a6y’. The track had released back in 2019 and was certified gold just last week by the Recording Industry Association of America. Lil Loaded had released his latest track through Epic Records.
The late rapper’s last post on Instagram dated back to May 27 as he wrote “dopest fanbase on earth”. He had shared the news of his track, 6locc 6a6y being certified gold. Dashawn was arrested last year on a murder charge in connection to the shooting of 18-year-old Khalil Walker.
As per reports, he was indicted on a lesser charge of manslaughter. Back then, his attorney informed local news that the two were friends and the incident involved “no malice”. The late rapper was born in San Bernardino in California. He then moved to Dallas when he was a child.
Dashawn grew up listening to Michael Jackson. He said in an interview from 2019, “to me he started the whole rapping/singing thing. That’s where it originally came from for me.” The rapper also grew up listening to Lyfe Jennings and drew inspiration from artists like Lil Wayne, The Game, Chief Keef, Snoop Dogg, Rich Homie Quan and Tupac.
Lil Loaded had started rapping back when he was 18. 6locc 6a6y garnered almost 29 million views, as of May 31, on its official YouTube video before making its mark. He first dropped his first song, B.O.S. which was a reworking of YNW Melly’s Butter Pecan. One of Robertson’s latest releases was his music video for the track “Hard Times,” feat. Hotboii, a track off of 2020’s Criptape.
