Kelly Osbourne Reveals She’s Lost 85 Lbs, ‘I Worked Hard and It Feels Good’

Kelly Osbourne has made her health a priority, and is rightfully proud of her progress, after losing 85 pounds. The 33-year-old took to Instagram earlier this week where she wowed her followers with her new look and stunning purple hair.

Osbourne, who has been open with fans about her health in the past, was prompted to share the news of her weight loss after Jeannie Mai’s mom commented on one of her glam selfies last Wednesday. “Oh my gosh, you lost a lot of weight????,” Mai wrote.

“That’s right mamma Mai I lost 85lbs since I last saw you.” Osbourne enthusiastically replied in the comments section. “Can you believe it?”

“Yes…I’m bragging because I worked hard and it feels good!!!”

Over the weekend, she also shared a photograph of herself holding up a size 26 clothing tag (approximately a size 2 in the U.S.) “Yes…I’m bragging because I worked hard and it feels good!!!” she wrote alongside the photo.

“I have come to the realization that I constantly put the needs of others before my own”

At the start of this year, Osbourne shared that she was going to make self-care a priority.

“2019 has been one hell of a year,” she wrote at the start of the year, alongside a collage of highlights from 2019. “In many ways it has been amazing especially in terms of self-growth. In many ways it has been gut-wrenchingly difficult. However through all the good and bad it has been incredibly educational for me. I have come to the realization that I constantly put the needs of others before my own,” added Osbourne, who celebrated two years of sobriety last year.

Kelly, whose the daughter of Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne continued saying, “It’s time to put myself first, stop taking on other people’s s— and be the badass sober women I was born to be.”

“I feel like I’m bouncing off the walls”

Osbourne has previously opened up about her health journey. Back in March, earlier this year, the TV personality shared that she had lost seven pounds since she started quarantining.

“I wake up in the morning, and I guess what I’m doing is intermittent fasting if you really think about it. I get up, I have coffee and then I juice until nighttime. Then I have like, one meal and then I go to bed,” she revealed. “I have so much energy, it’s crazy,” Osbourne continued. “I feel like I’m bouncing off the walls. My body’s like, ‘How is it you get in quarantine and you’re like, suddenly like, becoming like, a fitness guru. And have more energy and are happier than you were before quarantine?’ I don’t know, it’s the weirdest thing.”

The star also added that she’s been keeping busy with walks around her neighborhood. “I’ve just been going on walks, and when I say walks, they’re like, 6 mile walks because there’s nothing else to do,” she said.

“I don’t want to be a fat drunk loser any more. I want to be a skinny winner”

Kelly also recently talked about how much better she’s been doing since deciding to break from her addiction problems in 2017. “I was in a haze of hangovers and withdrawals, I don’t know how I did it for as long as I did. I embalmed my body.” Kelly admitted on DJ Fat Tony’s podcast, The Recovery, in May of 2020. She added, “I was so wasted the whole time. I hadn’t been to a grocery store in three years or done normal things. And I thought, I don’t want to live like this any more.”

“I picked up the phone and I was really drunk when I called my brother Jack.” Kelly continued, “I got into his car. I was wearing a T-shirt and underwear and I remember saying to him. Crying, ‘I don’t want to be a fat drunk loser any more. I want to be a skinny winner’.” Kelly had detailed her struggle with drugs and alcohol in her 2017 memoir, There Is No F*cking Secret: Letters From a Badass Bitch.

“I was called fat and ugly in the press almost my entire life”

Way back in 2011, The Osbournes star opened up about the bullying she experienced while growing up in the public eye.

“I was called fat and ugly in the press almost my entire life,” she said. “I understand that being judged by others comes with the territory, but it broke my heart and ruined my self-esteem. It sets you up to hate yourself in a huge way. I was so angry about the things people said about me. I truly believe it’s the main reason I turned to Vicodin. And ended up in rehab three times. I just hated myself.”

Osbourne has publicly struggled with weight in the past. However, She said her stint on Dancing With the Stars in 2009, helped teach her about proper diet and exercise. But she struggled with maintaining her 20-pound weight loss after the show. “I’m an emotional eater,” she explained. “When I get upset, my diet goes out the window.” By 2012, Osbourne adopted a vegan diet plan and began hiking regularly to keep her weight down.

On Dec. 31, the star shared an Instagram post that her New Year’s resolution was to care for herself. “2020 is going to be the year of me,” she wrote at the time.
