Back in February of this year, Kartik Aaryan was spotted outside Aanand L. Rai’s Mumbai office. After he was spotted, there was speculation about him collaborating with the filmmaker for a gangster drama. This news was exciting for fans of the actor but it seems like the actor has lost one more project.
Kartik seems to be having a rough time as the actor lost another venture. He most recently lost Dostana 2 due to various allegations. The actor losing a venture by Karan Johar created a lot of buzz in Bollywood. Just last week, there were rumours of him having to say goodbye to another movie, Red Chillies Entertainment’s Freddie.
The reason for leaving this venture was due to creative differences. Unfortunately, the streak has continued as the actor lost another movie. As per reports, Aanand and the ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’ actor were in advanced talks for the movie. The venture was supposed to be directed by the filmmaker’s assistant.
The source said, “Kartik was in advanced-level talks with Aanand, and had read the script and heard the narration, too. But, before he could sign on the dotted line, things fell apart.” There have been no further details about the same as nobody knows the reason why the duo parted ways.
However, the source revealed that Kartik being dropped by Karan seems to have infleunced other filmmakers. The insider added this could be the third instance where Kartik may be losing out on getting to work with another established filmmaker. There is already speculation that after Kartik’s exit, Aanand is now considering Ayshmann Khurrana.
The insider further said, “Aanand is now considering Ayushmann Khurrana for this film with who he had earlier collaborated on Shubh Mangal Saavdhan (2017) and Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan (2020), so it’s not a surprise if he may have readily come on board.”
When tried to reach the filmmaker, he revealed nothing was official with the actor. It was revealed that as a production house, they work on several scripts and pitch it to actors. He shared, “As a production house, we work on several scripts and pitch it to actors — that’s the process. Actors keep meeting you, you keep telling them what you are working on, they express their desire to collaborate. And then, depending upon the subject, you decide if you should approach them. But that doesn’t mean you have signed them.”
Aanand revealed he has a story which he will soon make with Ayushmann.
