Jordyn Woods Says ‘Everything in My Life Changed’ After Tristan Thompson Scandal

It’s been a year since Kylie Jenner’s former BFF, Jordyn Woods, was involved in a cheating scandal with Tristan Thompson. A.k.a. Khloe Kardashian’s beau and father to their daughter, True.

In February 2019, the model found herself in the middle of a Kardashian controversy after she was spotted getting cozy with Khloe’s boyfriend, Tristan, at a party. Woods later confirmed Thompson did kiss her on the lips during an emotional appearance on Jada Pinkett Smith’s Red Table Talk.

The scandal drove a wedge between Woods and the famous family, effectively ending her friendship with Kylie and also led Khloe to dump the Cleveland Cavaliers player. If that wasn’t enough, the entire drama came along with an overwhelming amount of online commentary. Jordyn was publicly shamed and accused of being a “homewrecker.”

Now a year later, in a new tell-all interview on the YouTube series Now With Natalie, the 23 year old model reflects on how the public scandal affected her, the backlash. And how it has shaped her into the person she is now.

“I deleted everything off of my phone. I wouldn’t respond to anyone”

During the 30-minute conversation, Jordyn recalled feeling like the whole world was “crumbling down” on her.

“I remember just sitting in a very dark place. I had my family to talk to, I had you to talk to, but I just felt like I had no one,” Woods told host Natalie Manuel Lee. “You take everything you think you know for a whole decade, the people you think you know, the life you think you know, everything that you’ve grown up doing and you take it all away from someone. I didn’t even know how to feel,” Woods emotionally confessed.

Once news of the scandal broke out, the model recalled isolating herself due to the barrage of backlash she was receiving online. At one point things became so bad that even “Girls” star Lena Dunham blasted the “massive public shaming” that Woods was subjected to. “I deleted everything off of my phone. I wouldn’t respond to anyone, I responded to about two people. The 23 year old continued, “I pushed people away that probably shouldn’t have been pushed away but I just couldn’t trust anyone. Everything in my life changed,” she admitted.

“I feel like people in this generation lack accountability”

However, Woods has since learned to accept what happened, and she did so by acknowledging her faults in the incident.

“Looking at the situation, ‘Okay what did I do, what role did I play in this. How was I responsible, how can I be held accountable, how can I take responsibility for what happened?’ Things happen and that’s what makes us human,” she said. “But just acceptance and accountability and responsibility. I feel like people in this generation lack accountability and when you can’t accept what you’ve done or you can’t accept that, then you can’t heal from it.”

When asked about how she takes that accountability without letting it haunt her, Jordyn explained, “It’s easy to beat yourself up over things that you could have done differently. But you can’t hold on to what you could have or should have done. You just have to accept what actually happened and then you can let it go. It might take you a month to let it go, it might take you a year to let it go but you have to start praying to be able to let it go.”

“These past three years, I’ve gone through some of the most traumatic experiences a person can go through”

And although Woods has moved on from her fallout with the Kardashians, she still has regrets about how things went down. Looking back at all the drama that ensued, Jordyn still feels bad that “people were hurt.” She said, “It was a lot for everyone, my family, other families, friends, and not in a million years have I had a negative intention to do something bad to anyone I love. I wouldn’t say I’m happy something like that happened, but I’m happy I was able to become who I am today.”

Woods, whose dad, John, died of cancer in 2017, added, “I’ve gone through, these past three years, some of the most traumatic experiences a person can go through,” the model revealed. “When your whole world feels like it’s crumbling down, everything you thought you knew, it’s really to be rebuilt again but much stronger.”

“A lot can happen in one year, a lot,” she said. “Over months, and losing everything I thought I knew and gaining so much knowledge, you just can only be happy. The amount of strength I’ve gained in this year alone, nothing else could have shaped me to the person I am today,” Jordyn said confidently.

“She knew she had no choice to step away from the friendship”

Khloe eventually went on to reconcile with the NBA star as they quarantined together earlier this year with daughter True, but Woods’ friendship with Jenner still remains on the rocks.

Earlier this year in February, A source revealed that the beauty mogul “misses Jordyn at points,” The source continued, “She was more affected by the hurt that was inflicted upon her family versus her relationship with Jordyn directly. She was very conflicted initially, but after observing all the chaos across the board, she knew she had no choice to step away from the friendship.”

Going Instagram Official with her Boyfriend

Meanwhile Woods seems to be in a much better place now. The model has been celebrating her 23rd birthday in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. And on Saturday, she and her boyfriend, basketball star player, Karl-Anthony Towns finally made their relationship Instagram official.

“I found you, then I found me????,” Woods captioned a pic of herself and Towns wearing matching Versace swimsuits.

The basketball player wrote alongside his post, “There are darkness’s in life and there are lights, and you are one of the lights, the light of all lights ????.”

Earlier this year, Woods’ family friend also revealed, “Jordyn’s position now is, she’s going to just let it be what it is. She said what she had to say,” said the friend. “She’s working, she had a stint on a TV show and she has a couple brand deals coming up,” said the friend. “She’s not doing too, too much, but is staying busy.” Woods, who made her acting debut in a guest-starring role on “grown-ish” last year also competed on The Masked Singer and is focused on her career ahead.
