John Legend Dedicates ‘Never Break’ To Chrissy Teigen Weeks After Miscarriage

During the 2020 Billboard Music Awards on October 14, John Legend dedicated a heartfelt performance for his wife, Chrissy Teigen. He performed his superhit song, Never Break to her.

However, before he made all of us reach for tissues, Kelly Clarkson shared how special his performance will be. She was hosting Billboard Music Awards this year and she took a moment to share exactly why this performance was so special.

She said that her friend inspires her daily and not only as a musician or a songwriter but also as a human. The host continued that John is one of her favorite people on this planet. The singer explained that it is easy for everyone to feel that way about them because of Chrissy and his warm way of inviting everybody to their ‘highs and lows’.

Kelly continued, “My heart, obviously all of our hearts, go out to you both in this very difficult time and I’m thankful that you continue to share your light and your talent with all of us.”

John was donning a white suit as he sat center stage throughout the performance. After his beautiful performance, Kelly shared her support for the couple. She told her Voice coach that she was sending all her love to both him and Chrissy.

John’s performance at the Billboard Awards marked as his first performance since Chrissy experienced a pregnancy loss. Before he started playing his piano, he dedicated it to Chrissy.

Chrissy shared the sad news of her miscarriage on September 30. She hasn’t yet returned to social media but she does comment back on her Instagram posts. The model has tried to keep her grief for her third child Jack, private.

John Is Excited For The Voice

John did not comment much except he took to his social media and wrote, “We love you, Jack”. However, on the bright side, John seems excited to be returning to The Voice with Kelly, Gwen Stefani, and Blake Shelton. He will be coaching and mentoring the up and coming singers.

The coronavirus pandemic has sucked the fun out of everything so it is safe to say that it is going to be different. Although the season looks different, John is thrilled to have fans and viewers meet new talents.

“Actually, there were moments where you were happy that there was no live audience because you could really hear everything about the artist’s voice without all the extra noise and hubbub going on around it,” he told E! News. “It was actually kind of nice to be able to focus on their voices.”

The Billboard Music Awards aired on October 14 at 8 pm on NBC. And make sure to watch John when The Voice returns on October 19 on NBC.
