‘Gossip Girl’ Star Jessica Szohr Expecting First Child with Pro NHL Player Brad Richardson

Congratulations are in order for Jessica Szohr! The “Gossip Girl” Alum recently announced that she and her boyfriend, Brad Richardson are expecting their first child together.

On September 23, Szohr took to her Instagram to share the happy news with her fans and followers. For her Pregnancy reveal, the 35 year old actress showed off her baby bump for the first time in a Black and White picture, which she captioned, “Full of joy!” Jessica is beaming as her hockey player beau leans in to kiss their soon-to-be new addition. Szohr also shared the same photo on her Instagram Story, writing, “Surprise!”

Celebrities Chime in with their congratulatory messages

Shortly after sharing the news, Jessica’s comment section was flooded with love from fans and well wishes from her celebrity pals, who offered their congratulations.

“The Originals” actress Claire Holt, who just gave birth to a baby girl, wrote “Yayayayayayyyyy!” in one comment. “Best news of 2020,” commented Jonathan Tucker, while Eiza González offered, “CONGRATULATIONS ???????? ????❤️????????”

“The Vampire Diaries” actress Nina Dobrev gushed, “The bun is out of the oven! Finally! (Well….figuratively, not literally. It’s still cookin’)” she added with a winky face emoji and several hearts.

Jessica’s “Orville” co-star Kyra Santoro also chimed in, writing, “OMG!!!!!!!!!! Congratulations” while Newlywed “Dynasty” actress Elizabeth Gillies added “Congratulations!”

“Love you guys!” Zoey Deutch wrote about the happy couple, while Erin Foster commented, “Congrats!!! You’ll be the most amazing mom!”

Jessica is popularly known for playing the role of Vanessa Abrams on the beloved teen drama series “Gossip Girl,” which ran for a total of six seasons on the CW from 2007 until 2012.

According to sources Jessica and Brian have been dating since before the Super Bowl in February 2019. However, Szohr first revealed her romance with the Arizona Coyotes player in March 2019, when she took their relationship public via Instagram. “When your man gets 4 goals… nbd!” she gushed at the time, congratulating the NHL star on a game well-played. Since then, the “Shameless” actress has kept fans up to date on their relationship with plenty of photos.

In a January 2020 tribute to her main man, Jessica wrote, “My beach bum baby! ????✨???? I am thankful for you today and everyday!” the actress wrote. “I know I tell you that from time to time and it doesn’t mean I have to post it & share it… but today I wanted anyone who follows me or is interested in my life to know that this man is a special human with a huge heart:) & I am lucky to have crossed paths with him!”

The Arizona Coyotes player seems to have first appeared on Szohr’s Instagram grid in April of last year, when the actress shared a photo of the duo wearing cowboy hats at the Stagecoach Music Festival. “This is ???????? 🙂 ❤️???????? #stagecoaching” she captioned the photo at the time.

Past Relationships

Brad began his career with the NHL in Colorado back in 2003. He’s currently playing for the Arizona Coyotes in the National Hockey League. Although the couple’s baby-to-be will be their first together, Brad also shares a 3 year old daughter from his marriage to ex-wife Lauren Hunt.

Prior to finding love with Brad, Jessica has been romantically linked with former NFL star Scotty McKnight and Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers. The actress also shared a brief romance with her “Gossip Girl” co-star Ed Westwick between 2008 and 2010.

A “Gossip Girl” Baby Boom?

Turns out, Jessica isn’t the only “Gossip Girl” alum with pregnancy news! The show’s actors seem to be amid a baby boom, as Actress Leighton Meester, who plays fan favorite, Blair Waldorf on the show, recently gave birth to her second child with husband Adam Brody.

Penn Badgley, who plays the role of Dan Humphrey recently announced that he and his wife Domino Kirke have welcomed their first child together, a baby boy, earlier this month.
