Jamie Dornan Joined ‘The Tourist’ Thriller Series By Fleabag Producer

Jamie Dornan has been facing critical fire for his Irish accent in Wild Mountain Thyme. The actor has been roped in to lead The Tourist which is an Australia-set mystery thriller.

It is by Two Brothers Pictures which is an Emmy-winning production company and is behind Fleabag and The Missing. The six-part series also features Danielle Macdonald, Hugo Weaving, and Shalome Brune-Franklin. HBO Max has boarded it for US rights along with German public broadcaster ZDF.

It will start production later this year and it was commissioned by the BBC and Australian partner Stan in early 2020. Jamie also stars as a British man who will find himself in the glowing red heart of the Australian outback. It is like a chase of cat and mouse that leads to the man waking up in the hospital hurt and alive.

He goes on searching for answers which leads him to the vast and unforgiving outback. Danielle will star as Helen Chambers who will play a probationary constable. While Shalome is set to play Luci who is a waitress who’s swept into the man’s journey for answers. Hugo will play Agent Lachlan Rogers who is one of the highly regarded detective inspectors in Australia.

The Tourist are some of the most exciting scripts I’ve ever read. I can’t wait to go to Australia with such a talented group of people,” said Jamie. The writers of The Tourist, Harry, and Jack Williams said they are very excited about the show. They explained that it is tonally breaking new ground for them and have Jamie on the cast is like icing on the cake.
