Disney Plans Expanding Star Wars And Marvel Universe On ‘Disney+’ Streaming

Disney has unveiled plans for a major expansion of its Star Wars and Marvel stars on Disney + service streaming.

Shift Away From Theatres

The company has said its upcoming films Peter Pan & Wendy and Tom Hanks’ Pinocchio will be released live on Disney +, skipping theaters.

But it has also announced an increase in prices from March next year.

Disney is the latest major studio to change its focus from cinema to streaming.

Last week Warner Brothers said all of its 2021 releases will start at HBO Max.

The problem of coronavirus has come a long way in the film and entertainment industry, and cinemas desperately need content to entice viewers to come back with new entertainment that may only be seen on their screens.

But content producers want to cater to an audience that may not be ready to go back to the movies.

Plan Ahead

As part of the expansion, Disney raises prices by $ 1 in the US, to $ 7.99 from March 26, 2021. In the Eurozone countries, it will increase by € 2 to € 8.99.

The price hike in the UK has not yet been announced, but is expected to be similar.

Disney says it plans to donate ten new TV series to its franchises at Marvel and Star Wars in the next few years.

This includes Disney’s new major hit series, Mandalorian, featuring a Star Wars character with the same genre as Yoda.

Another Star Wars series has been announced, Andor, who plays the role of Diego Luna as a character in the 2016 Rogue One film.

Many Star Wars animated series, Bad Batch and A Droid Story also work, the company said.

The other 15 live-action Disney Animation and Pstrong shows and 15 Disney Animation and Pstrong films will be available on the streaming service.

Managers say customers should expect something new every week.

The news comes after Warner Bros. announced last week that it would begin showing all 17 of its 2021 movies in its HBO Max broadcast service on the same day they were released on theaters.

But not all broadcasts focused on broadcasting.

Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins will be the first woman to lead a Star Wars film, Rogue Squadron, focusing on a team of pilots from the Star Wars writer. Scheduled for December 2023.

In partnership with its sports broadcasting services Hulu and ESPN the company has a total of 137 million subscribers in total.

Disney + is still far behind Netflix, boasting nearly 200 million subscribers worldwide.

But the number of subscribers they have added, in such a short period of time, will have a lot of broadcast services on their shoulders.
