A new video has revealed the first look from the sets of Hocus Pocus 2. Disney’s upcoming sequel to the 1993 classic horror-comedy will be served as a Disney+ original movie. The movie will see Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy.
They will be reprising their roles as the infamous Sanderson sisters. These sisters are witches who live in Salem, Massachusetts. They are eventually hanged for their witchcraft, however, this does not happen before they cast one last spell which will summon their revival 300 years later.
The original Hocus Pocus was actually a made-for-TV movie on the Disney channel. It has had a lot of cult following since then. The film however received negative critical reception upon release. Eventually, the film has grown a cult status with fans going to Salem every October for Halloween to visit the sets from the movie.
Hocus Pocus 2 might be incorporating other areas of New England for filming. But the city of Salem does celebrate its connection to the film as they put up Hocus-Pocus themed parades every Halloween. Recently, Kiel James Patrick released a TikTok video that revealed the first look at new sets from Hocus Pocus 2.
Kiel posted a video with the caption, “Hocus Pocus 2 filming in Rhode Island,” along with the song “Come Little Children“. Jessica Parker’s character sings this song in the original movie and the video features the text on the screen saying; “Disney is building an entire village for Hocus Pocus 2 right down the road from us!”
The original movie was filmed in Salem and Hocus Pocus 2 will be shot in Rhode Island. TikTok video displayed the gorgeous New England Fall landscape that was also shown throughout the Hocus Pocus movie. The movie has grown a loyal fan base which celebrates the film every October.
