Dax Shepard just got himself a quarantine haircut courtesy his daughter.
The 45 year old actor took to Instagram on Thursday to reveal that he was shaving part of his head to match one of his daughters’ latest haircuts. Earlier this week, one of the actor’s two daughters asked her parents if she could shave the side of her head. Not only did her cool dad agree but also decided to sport a similar cut in order to accompany his daughter.
“She requested a specific haircut a few days ago, and now I want to match her”
Shepard proceeded to share a video of his hair transformation set to “Armor” by Sara Bareilles. In the two-minute clip, The “Parenthood” actor is seen having a good time, jamming to the 2019 smash hit as he nonchalantly shaves the side of his head with a pair of clippers.
“Thank you @sarabareilles for giving my daughters an anthem. She requested a specific haircut a few days ago, and now I want to match her :)” he wrote in the caption of the video.
The Armchair Expert podcast host, who shares two daughters, 5 and half year old Delta, and 7 year old Lincoln with Kristen Bell, received many compliments for his bold decisions. Shortly afterwards, the actor posted another photo of the final haircut alongside a shot of Keanu Reeves sporting a similar look in the movie “Parenthood.”
“Thank you for being a kick ass dad for strong young women!”
Although Dax did not reveal which of his children he was emulating with the fresh cut, his wife approved of the major hair change. “I love this man so much,” Bell wrote on her own Instagram as she shared Shepard’s video. “He wanted to twin with our daughter.”
Sara Bareilles herself responded to the adorable post by the father of two, commenting, “This is the best best best. Thank you for being a kick ass dad for strong young women! #handmemyhaircut ❤️❤️❤️.” In another comment, she wrote, “Yassssss. What a good daddy move.”
“I’ve never been, nor will I ever be, that cool to shave the side of my head”
Apparently, of the couple’s two daughters, the eldest loves to make bold decisions when it comes to her haircuts. Last year, Kristen revealed that the couple’s 7-year-old daughter Lincoln had woken up one morning and asked if she could cut her hair. Something which had taken the parents by surprise.
“My oldest daughter shaved the side of her head a couple weeks ago. I gave her permission,” Kristen said. “She just woke up one morning and was like, ‘I need to shave this whole side right here.'”
“I was like, ‘I’ve never been, nor will I ever be, that cool to shave the side of my head,'” Kristen confessed. “She did it, and she rocks it and she loves it. And she even said, ‘I need a little trim. It’s getting long.’ And I was like, ‘Oh, you’re just like a skater girl. That’s so cool.'”
Shepard’s Motorcycle Accident
Shepard’s haircut also comes a month after the actor revealed on his Armchair Expert podcast that he had injured himself in a motorcycle accident.
In August, Shepard underwent surgery after breaking multiple bones in a harrowing crash at a racetrack in California. The actor said at the time, “I was totally at blame. I thought I would be able to slide in between, but someone turned in and I was already under full brake and I couldn’t go anywhere. I clipped their bumper and I went over the handlebars,” he continued, “and I landed pretty hard.”
As a result of the nasty accident, Shepard ended up breaking his ribs and his clavicle in several places. The actor also re-injured the hand that had been recovering from a previous incident.
“Dad is safe and sound and recovering at home”
A while ago, on August 21, Bell shared an Instagram Update, talking about their little arrangement and her husband’s health, “Dad is safe and sound and recovering at home in his @lazboy (which he convinced me belongs back in the center of the room),” she captioned the selfie. “Thank you for all the week’s wishes and to the wonderful doctors and nurses who helped our family!”
In another appearance on the Say Yes! with Carla Hall podcast, Bell revealed that her husband had been sleeping in the guest bedroom after undergoing surgery.
“So, it’s been for a couple weeks now that it’s been the three of us in this front room, and Daddy’s just sort of had his kingdom in the other bedroom, which I support,” she explained. “I think when you just got surgery, you’re allowed to sleep in and go to bed later and have your own suite.”
