Cardi B rocked the stage during this year’s Grammy awards as she performed her superhit song from last year, WAP.
The rapper broke another record yet again as she made history. She became the first female rapper to have five No. 1 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. This comes after her latest single Up has become a superhit song as well which she also performed at the Grammys as part of a medley.
Cardi’s other hits to reach the No. 1 position include her song from 2017, Bodak Yellow, her collaboration with Bad Bunny and J Balvin I Like It, Girls Like You on which she was featured with Maroon 5 the same year. And last but not the least, her hit from last year, WAP featuring Megan Thee Stallion.
According to Billboard, four of those songs have also topped the Hot Rap Songs Chart. Cardi is also the first female rap artist with two Hot 100 No. 1 songs with no collaborations- Bodak Yellow and Up. The rapper took to her Instagram to express her gratitude in a post that showed a snap of Up at the top of the charts.
She captioned the picture as she wrote she wants God to come see her in her dreams when she takes her nap today. The rapper wrote, “’I want God to come see me in my dreams when I take my nap today so I can kiss his feet and tell him how much I love him!”
“…one of my biggest influences is Rihanna and Jay-Z.”
The rapper later added as she said that she is speechless and has got no words. She wrote, “I got no words. Actually I got a lot of words but I can’t type it all.” The WAP singer further concluded as she wrote “NUMBER 1!!!!!” and added several crying emojis.
Cardi had recently discussed her future goals which included becoming a billion dollar woman. In an interview with Stationhead, she revealed that she now considers Rihanna and Jay-Z to be her role models because she wants to build a huge brand. She revealed that before she never used to look up to anybody.
The rapper said, “When I came to the game and people used to be like, “Who do you look up to?” I always used to say, “I don’t look up to nobody,” because I didn’t really understand the game and I only feel like I got influenced by the people that was around me.”
She further explained, “Now that I’m at the level that I’m at, one of my biggest influences is Rihanna and Jay-Z. And I’m not just saying it to kiss a** or anything.” The Bodak Yellow singer further added that she feels they are influential because Rihanna comes from a country that her parents came from and she is a “whole billionaire”.
Cardi added, “But for her to make her business so big and be a billionaire, that’s what I strive to be. That’s what I want. I want to be a billion-dollar woman.”
