Britney Spears Slams Documentaries For Focusing On The “Negative”
Britney Spears had talked about the documentary that put light on how the media treated her. She had said that she felt embarrassed which left fans quite surprised and confused. Now the pop star has slammed the documentaries about her life as “hypocritical”.
The singer took to her social media account as she posted a lengthy caption in which she also addressed claims about not being in charge of her social media. She seemingly pointed a finger at the hit New York Times documentary, Framing Britney Spears; at the BBC’s The Battle For Britney: Fans, Cash and a Conservatorship.
Both the documentaries discuss the singer’s mental health issues that ultimately led to her father Jamie Spears obtaining control of her and her financial endeavors. The conservatorship was given to her father 13 years ago. This was after her very public breakdown as the media surrounded her. In her Instagram post, Spears observed: “These documentaries are so hypocritical … they criticize the media and then do the same thing????? Damn …”
Britney posted her message along with a video of her dancing in a sports top and shorts. She further referred to the documentaries as she shared with fans that the attention is “flattering” but she does not enjoy having the “negative and traumatizing” parts of her life highlighted.
The singer wrote, “So many documentaries about me this year with other people’s takes on my life… what can I say … I’m deeply flattered !!!!” Britney reminded her fans that while she has gone through a lot, she has also had some amazing moments. However, she seems to be pointing out that she also wants her good times to be included in the documentaries.

“Why highlight the most negative and traumatizing times in my life from forever ago ????”
“I don’t know y’all but I’m thrilled to remind you all that although I’ve had some pretty tough times in my life…” she said. “I’ve had waaaayyyy more amazing times in my life and unfortunately my friends … I think the world is more interested in the negative!!!!” The pop star further questioned this is supposed to be a business and society about the future. She added why to highlight the most negative times of her life from forever ago.
Britney wrote, “I mean … isn’t this supposed to be a business and society about THE FUTURE ???? Why highlight the most negative and traumatizing times in my life from forever ago ???? I mean DAMN.” This comes after she prepared to address the court in her conservatorship case next month.
The pop star continued to talk about her garden at her LA home in her post as she declared she should be featured on the cover of Better Homes and Gardens magazine. She further addressed the claims made by her former makeup artist, Billy Brasfield. The makeup artist had claimed that the singer does not run her own social media.
Britney wrote, “PSSSS I don’t actually talk to Billy B AT ALL so I’m honestly very confused!!!’ she wrote. “This is my Instagram !!!!” Billy was addressed the claims that were made by many of Britney’s fans who were worried about the star’s independence. However, Britney will speak out on the matter herself during her June 23rd ‘status hearing’. The hearing will be on June 23rd at 1:30 pm PT at Stanley Mosk Courthouse in Los Angeles.
The new documentary from BBC offered reports that claimed Jamie saying that the singer had dementia in conservatorship filings. Documentary maker and journalist Mobeen Azhar claimed to have seen the documents that show dementia might be the reason she has been living under strict legal constraints since 2008. However, Mobeen acknowledged that dementia claims sound “a bit out there”. He thought it was a conspiracy theory.
