Billie Eilish Almost Sent To Therapy By Her Parents Over Justin Bieber Obsession
It’s no secret that Billie was Bieber’s number one fan growing up.
Long before she was a Grammy-winning recording artist, Billie Eilish was a Belieber. In the latest episode of her Apple Music podcast Me & dad radio, the 18-year-old’s mom recalled just how infatuated her daughter was with the Canadian hitmaker.

“I would watch the music video for this song and just sob.”
She described how, in 2012, Billie was beside herself over the music video for Justin Bieber’s single As Long As You Love Me. So much so that she and husband Patrick O’Connell considered sending her to therapy. “Driving to the dance studio with Billie, playing this song, sobbing, and then driving back and sobbing.” Maggie continued. ‘It was either Marina and the Diamonds or this, sobbing. Not just this, it was all of Justin Bieber. Any Justin Bieber song, but I just happen to remember this one really well. And the video. And Billie talking to me about it, and being excited that it was coming out and just crying and crying. Everyone knows the whole Billie-Justin Bieber thing, but this song was a big part of it.’

Billie didn’t even try to deny her obsession as she confessed, “I would watch the music video for this song and just sob.” Maggie then disclosed. ‘I just want to say, we did consider taking you to therapy because you were in so much pain over Justin Bieber.’
This confession even surprised Billie, “You did?! Oh that’s embarrassing.”
Billie and Justin’s Timeline
In an Interview back in 2019, Billie had gushed about how much she adores Justin Bieber, whom she hadn’t met in person at that point.

“It started when I was, like, 12, I believe,” she confessed, adding that she totally had “big-ass” posters of him on the walls. “He’s amazing. He’s so sweet. I feel for him, man. He’s been through a lot, dude.”

She finally got to meet him at Coachella in April 2019. Justin tweeted to say that he was “proud” of Billie’s debut performance at the festival. Hours later, the pair were seen hugging it out for the first time during Ariana Grande’s headline set. Billie then got to meet Justin’s wife Hailey Baldwin and the group ended up having a dance-off with talk show host, James Corden.

Late that year in July, Eilish and Bieber collaborated on the Bad Guy Remix. Bieber even posted a photo of a young Eilish in her room, surrounded by posters of himself.
“I just want to protect her”
In an interview with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe, earlier this year, Bieber got emotional talking about how he feels “protective of her.” The Sorry singer said, “I just want to protect her, I don’t want her to lose it, I don’t want her to go through anything I went through. I don’t wish that upon anybody. If she ever needs me, I’m just a call away.” Justin said as he recalled having a hard time in the industry as a kid himself.

Billie Eilish’s rise to fame will go down in history. Just 14 years old, her first song, Ocean Eyes was a viral chart buster. After which, her song Bored, featured in Netflix’s 13 Reasons Why. Her debut album When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? was the best-performing album of 2019. It spawned six Billboard Hot 100 Top 40 singles. The album along with its single Bad Guy earned her six Grammy Awards this past February.
