Amazon’s Panic Has Been Cancelled After One Season
Panic, an Amazon Young Adult series, has been cancelled after only one season. In May 2021, the series will premiere on Amazon Prime Video. Season one of Panic featured ten one-hour episodes. The series is based on Lauren Oliver’s novel of the same name, which was published in 2014.
The show follows a group of high school seniors who compete in an annual contest in which they must complete dangerous challenges for a monetary prize large enough to get them out of their small town. As the show’s creator and head writer, Oliver played a significant role in the novel’s adaptation.

Next Season Cancelled
Panic will not return for a second season, according to Deadline. Olivia Welch, Mike Faist, Jessica Sula, Camron Jones, Ray Nicholson, and Enrique Murciano all leave the show after Season 1. Jones, Nicholson, and Welch also provided voices for the novella, which was released on Audible. The show was cancelled after season one received a 6.5 on IMDB and a 65 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.
The young adult series covered a wide range of genres, from adventure to crime to horror. However, the show’s adaptability was insufficient to keep it afloat.
Meanwhile, another Amazon young adult series, The Wilds, has been renewed for a second season. This could be attributed to The Wilds’ from other. Panic’s teen YouTuber-style dares have been seen before in series and films such as Nerve and Truth or Dare. Season 1 of Panic is still available to watch on Amazon.
