BTS Dropping Limited-Edition Version of ‘Butter’

BTS is dropping a limited-edition version of their highly anticipated second English language, Butter. They are planning to release it on cassette and vinyl.

The $6.98 cassingle is slated to ship in June. It features the song on both sides while the $7.98 7″ vinyl single is one-sided and is slated to ship around the same time. This is also part of the announcement puzzle by BTS. This included slow-drip promo clips and photos for the song. The clips and photos are for the song as a press release described as a “dance-pop track brimming with the smooth yet charismatic charm of BTS.”

Butter will be the second single in English-language after Dynamite in 2020. Dynamite had debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. This made BTS the first all-South Korean group to lead the chart.

The band had released three new concept clips on May 5th including the one where J-Hope sat in awe of a yellow lollipop. It dropped to the floor and broke as a pulsating rhythm played in the background. Meanwhile, in another video, Jimin was seen twisted in an open orange soda bottle as he took some sips while getting his groove on.

As for the third clip, it saw V snacking on gummies as he tried to throw them in the air. He caught them in his mouth before spilling the entire box. Before the release of the two trailers, BTS had shared a 60-minute video that featured an animated pat of butter melting on a yellow background. The video was released on April 26 and has already garnered nearly 15 million views.

Big Hit had revealed before the arrival of Butter on April 28 that the group would be teasing the song with concept clips and photos. The highly anticipated single would premiere on May 21st. Up until then, BTS will keep teasing fans as they long to hear the music. During a press release, the group described Butter as “a dance-pop track brimming with the smooth yet charismatic charm of BTS.”

On Thursday (April 29), the Billboard Music Awards announced that BTS is a finalist in four categories for the 2021 event: top duo/group, top song sales artist, top social artist, and top-selling song.
