Lisa’s song “MONEY” from BLACKPINK becomes the fastest single by a K pop solo artist
On October 18, YG announced that Lisa’s song “MONEY” has achieved 100 million Spotify streams. Since its release on September 10, ‘MONEY’ has amassed over 100 million Spotify streams in just 37 days, making it the fastest single by a K-pop solo artist to do so. Rosé’s “On The Ground” held the previous record of 71 days.
100 million stream
Prior to that, Jennie’s ‘Solo’ had earned 100 million views in just 125 days. All three are currently the platform’s top female K-Pop solo artists. The official b side tune from Lisa’s debut solo album, ‘LALISA,’ is titled ‘MONEY.’ ‘MONEY’ is a rap that is smooth, flowy, and almost conversational. ‘MONEY,’ like her title single ‘LALISA,’ shows a different side of Lisa, one that only die-hard BLINK fans are aware of.
‘MONEY’ is becoming increasingly popular, rising from number 81 last week to number 59 this week on the Official Singles Chart in the United Kingdom. The song has also reached the top of the iTunes Top Songs charts in 38 countries. ‘MONEY’ is also BLACKPINK’s 19th song to exceed 100 million stream
Meanwhile, BLACKPINK’s Lisa’s upcoming collaboration with DJ Snake, Ozuna, and Megan Thee Stallion has been confirmed by YG Entertainment! The agency announced on October 16 that the new collab track, named ‘SG,’ will be released on October 22.
Lisa Gets Guinness World Record
Lisa’s solo debut ended weeks ago but it is breaking records and making history constantly. Now the Blackpink member has broken records to an extent where she has also entered the Guinness World Records.
As per Guinness World Records, her music video has become the most viewed music video by a soloist on Youtube. This record was held by Taylor Swift for her music video, Me in 2019. Simultaneously, the Blackpink star made a personal record as her b-side performance video for Money crossed 100 million views on Youtube. This happened within 15 days of its release.
