Rihanna Announces 2020 Savage X Fenty Show, Teases Celeb Lineup: Lizzo, Travis Scott, Bella Hadid and more
Prepare to have a front-row seat at Rihanna’s Savage X Fenty special because the show is returning to Amazon Prime Video for its second installment!
“Y’all ain’t ready”
The “Love on the Brain” singer will host The ‘Savage X Fenty Show Vol. 2’ of her lingerie brand’s fashion show on October 2. RiRi, who is the executive producer and creative director, sent fans into a frenzy as she shared the upcoming show’s teaser on her Instagram.
In the promo video, shared with her 87.4 Million followers, Ri is seen walking outside the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Before watching the rehearsals unfold inside. All this while maintaining proper health and safety measures, as she is seen wearing a mask and face shield. ‘Y’all ain’t ready,’ Rihanna teases while ‘Savage not sorry’ flashes on the screen, giving fans a sneak peak of the extravaganza about to unfold.
The Star-Studded Celebrity Lineup
The much anticipated event is sooner than you think and is all set to air on Oct. 2, so mark your calendars. Like its first edition, Savage x Fenty Vol. 2 boasts an all-star lineup of models, musicians, actors and dancers. Fans should look forward to performances by Travis Scott, Ella Mai, Bad Bunny, Miguel, Mustard, Roddy Ricch, and Rosalía. And if that wasn’t enough to get you excited, Veterans Bella Hadid, Big Sean, Cara Delevingne, Christian Combs, Normani, Irina Shayk and Paloma Elsesser will also be walking the runway.
Alongside newcomers Lizzo, Demi Moore, Paris Hilton, Rico Nasty, Willow Smith, Shea Coulee and more. RiRi was also recently seen at a shoot with rapper Young Thug so it’s likely he may also feature in some part of the fashion show.
Savage X Fenty Vol 1: A “fashion musical”
The first Savage x Fenty show, which was filmed in New York City during last year’s New York Fashion Week, was easily one of the most talked-about fashion events from 2019. The multi-layered performance piece, which Rihanna herself called a “fashion musical,” was a celebration of body positivity, inclusion, diversity and sensuality.
Rihanna’s reimagined format of a broadcast runway presentation included high-energy choreography, music, celebrity cameos, and proved that the concept of the televised lingerie runway show isn’t dead after all. It was a format that broke the internet the first time around, and is most likely do so the second time around as well. Moreover, the show also filled the void left by the iconic Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, which was cancelled last year for the first time.
“Packed with unexpected pairings and surprising new styles that push the boundaries of individuality”
The Savage X Fenty Fall 2020 collection will be available for purchase in Amazon Fashion’s store and on the Savage x Fenty website from Oct. 2. According to a press release, the collection, which ranges in diverse sizes from 30A to 42H/46DDD and XS to 3X, is described as “high-voltage.” With a variety of surprising new styles “packed with unexpected pairings and surprising new styles that push the boundaries of individuality.”
While last year’s event was pre-recorded at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, it’s unclear when or where the show will take place now in 2020. Based off of last year’s Savage x Fenty show at New York Fashion Week, we can only hope to see what unique and representative styles Rihanna has in store for us.
Savage X Fenty Vol 2 will debut on Amazon Prime on October 2 with their Fall 2020 collection. Mark your calendars, you don’t want to miss this one.
