Many top models today are using their platform to spread resources and information that touch on more pressing global issues. Models, Kaia Gerber and Cara Delevingne took their activism offline yesterday and attended a Black Lives Matter protest in downtown Los Angeles.
Kaia and Cara were photographed among the dozens of individuals who gathered outside of the Hall of Justice in Los Angeles, California. The gathering saw protesters unite to condemn LA County’s unwillingness to prosecute police brutality. Delevingne and Gerber were seen sharing an embrace in the crowd.
The pair were seen meeting up with friend and Once Upon A Time In Hollywood actress, Margaret Qualley, who was also at the protest. Both Kaia and Cara had been in a self-professed ‘quarantine crew’ with some of their closest Hollywood pals at the start of the coronavirus pandemic but then spent some time apart.
Being Vocal about Change
Both Delevingne and Gerber have been quite active and vocal on social media in recent weeks. Calling for immediate change and police reform in the wake of George Floyd’s murder which sparked BLM protests across the country.
Cara has attended and posted from several protests over these past few months. Recently, she also took part in #PassThePlatform. The initiative gave Cara the opportunity to lend her platform to a 21-year-old Afro-Indigenous activist, named Eva Maria Lewis. Who educated her followers on the protests occurring in Chicago.

18 year old Gerber has begun being more outspoken about political and social issues on her page.
The young model has helped amplify the voices of the Black community by shining the light on leaders and resources on her Instagram.“When you have a big platform, it seems irresponsible not to use it for good,” she told Vogue back in March. “With all the information that’s out there, we can’t claim ignorance anymore.”
Gerber, who runs a book club, has also been spreading petitions and reading resources supporting the BLM movement.
Past Relationships
Cara and Kaia’s outing comes just two months after news broke that Delevingne split with her girlfriend of two years, Ashley Benson. Cara, who revealed in June that she identifies as pansexual, shocked millions of fans when she split from her girlfriend of two years.
The former Pretty Little Liars star seems to have already moved on after recent rumours of her dating rapper, G-Eazy have surfaced. A source close to the pair revealed, “They’re a full-on couple now. It just sort of happened because they like being together so much. They’ve barely gone a day without seeing each other in the past month.”
Kaia was most recently dating SNL star and comedian, Pete Davidson until December.
