Kaitlyn Bristowe Cries After Internet ‘Trolls’ Criticize Her Appearance Ahead of DWTS Debut: “You Win”
Kaitlyn Bristowe just revealed that being in the spotlight isn’t always easy. The Bachelorette Alum was recently announced as one of the celebrity contestants on the upcoming season of the dance reality competition, Dancing With The Stars.
“I forgot how mean people are when you go on TV”
Ahead of her return to TV, Kaitlyn took to her Instagram Stories on Saturday to share a heartbreaking photo of herself in tears after reading mean comments on her physical appearance.
“I forgot how mean people are when you go on TV,” Bristowe wrote. “Just so many ‘She looks so old and plastic comments’ everywhere. You win today trolls. It got to me.”
In an additional follow-up video on her Instagram Story, Bristowe opened up to fans about her emotional meltdown. She admitted that she had a “good cry,” joking that she didn’t ruin her eyeliner in the process.
“I honestly am so tired that anything will set me off right now, plus I am PMSing so great combo.” Bristow continued, admitting, “I felt my feelings, I got it out. Sometimes I like to be honest on here. But not always be ‘woo, happy.’ I had a weak moment, cried it out, felt it all. Now, I’m going to pour myself a glass of wine and remember what’s important in life.”
“I don’t stay in good spirits. I drown in tears sometimes”
Bristowe later shared an update informing fans that she was feeling “MUCH better.” Kaitlyn went on to reveal, “My friends made a board with nice messages on it and I sat and read them all. Reminded myself of whose opinions matter and I’m BACK.”
When a fan asked how she remains positive in such situations, she responded, “I don’t stay in good spirits. I drown in tears sometimes. And that’s okay. I don’t stay in dark places long and that’s the goal for me. Feel your feelings, find the root issue, and push forward.”
Kaitlyn Bristowe is a popular TV personality and podcast host, best known as a contestant on season 19 of ABC’s The Bachelor. She later returned as the official lead on season 11 of The Bachelorette.
“I haven’t danced since I was about 20 years old”
In a recent interview, Bristowe admitted that she was feeling a lot of “pressure” ahead of the season 29 DWTS premiere.
“It’s because everyone knows I have a dance background. And I feel everyone’s like, ‘You’re going to do great because you know how to dance.’ And I’m like, Well, I haven’t danced since I was about 20 years old,” she said.
Bristowe also shared she has been taking her rehearsals very seriously and “can’t stop practicing” for the show. “I just love it so much,” Bristowe admitted of her feelings while practicing. Her boyfriend Jason Tartick, on the other hand is getting a bit tired of it. “I’m not sure how many times I can see this dance,” she said what Tartick jokingly told her. However, the reality star later shared that her beau is “always ready to cheer me on.”
“Are you serious? Play it cool, Kaitlyn, play it cool!”
Earlier this year in June, the podcast host received the exciting news that she would be joining the ABC competition series, on an episode of The Bachelor: The Greatest Seasons — Ever! At the time, host, Chris Harrison surprised her with the happy news.
“Kaitlyn, will you be on the next season of Dancing with the Stars?” Harrison asked. Bristowe then gasped with excitement and screamed, “Are you serious? Play it cool, Kaitlyn, play it cool!” she hilariously told herself before proudly accepting the offer.
“My mom has been sending me plenty of YouTube tutorials on how to ballroom dance”
The reality TV personality even recently admitted that before DWTS, she “wasn’t feeling my best.”
“My anxiety was coming back, depression was starting to hit because of obviously what’s happening in the world,” she explained. “Then I got news of going to pursue a dream of mine and I was like, ‘This is like the kick in the butt I needed to get myself in gear, in shape, to just feel so strong. So I started immediately and it definitely has paid off over the last 15 weeks.”
The Off the Vine podcast host said she was already hard at work in preparing herself for the upcoming season. “My mom has been sending me plenty of YouTube tutorials on how to ballroom dance,” she said. “I have hired a trainer. I am trying to get into the best shape of my life. So, I cut back on the wine, sadly. I just want to go in feeling my best and my strongest,” she explained.
