The Big Bang Theory’s Star Discusses The Drawbacks Of Being A Part Of The Hit Show
Simon Helberg opens up on the drawbacks of being a part of The Big Bang Theory. The actor, who played Howard Wolowitz, was a late addition to the original cast of the show and was added after the pilot was rewritten. He continued to perform the part until the show’s 12-season run ended in 2019.
Blessing In Disguise
The Big Bang Theory was still CBS’ most popular series at the time of its cancellation. It maintained its popularity, and the actors was well rewarded for their efforts. So it came as a huge shock when the sitcom was confirmed to be ending after its 12th season.
The fact that the network was reportedly interested in renewing the show just added to the confusion. It was eventually revealed that Jim Parsons’ decision to quit was the deciding factor. While the series was technically ensemble in nature, the socially awkward genius Sheldon Cooper was popularly considered as its main lead.
Apart from him, the rest of the crew was said to be open to continuing the show, but according to Helberg’s latest views, The Big Bang Theory was a blessing in disguise.
Howard for more than a decade
The actor talked out about his experience playing Howard for more than a decade in an interview with The Washington Newsday. Helberg, who is currently promoting his new film Annette, in which he co-stars with Adam Driver and Marion Cotillard, thinks there are many advantages to being a part of The Big Bang Theory.
However, while he became an actor to play a variety of parts, it was rather limited because of his commitment to the sitcom’s schedule. Now that it’s finished, he may go out and try his hand at other roles.
Have A Look What Simon Says :-
“You know, if you get to play a role on television for more than a decade, there’s definitely a lot of upside. However, playing a variety of personalities was one of the reasons I wanted to be an actress. As a result, I’m glad I’m getting more of those opportunities now.”
