There have been a lot of questions surrounding the renewal status of French crime drama series Ganglands on Netflix.
Ganglands is originally known as Braqueurs: La série in the origin country France. It has risen in popularity since its release in September 2021.
Ganglands Season 1
The Season 1 of the series arrived on Netflix on 24th September, 2021. It is brought to us by Hamid Hlioua and Julien Leclercq who have also worked on other Netflix series in the past.
Ganglands Season 1 had six episodes in total. The story of the show revolves around a thief and his apprentice juggling between the law enforcement authorities and drug dealers of the city.
At the end of season 1 of Ganglands, lots of questions were left unanswered which naturally hints towards the possibility of a second season.
Top 10 Rankings
But will Netflix do the obvious? It still remains unknown. Looking at Top 10 data from FlixPatrol, we know that Ganglands Season 1 performed pretty well in various Netflix regions.
It was ranked #4 in the world as of September 30, 2021. Ganglands Season 1 also peaked at the third position in its home country France and also also entered the top 10 in Netflix US and UK.
Renewal Status Of The Show
As of October 1, 2021, Netflix has not renewed Ganglands for Season II. We expect an announcement by the end of October as Netflix needs time to analyze a little more about the series and run the numbers.
Even though Netflix has been pulling the plug on many series such as Country Comfort lately, entertainment tabloids back in France have been optimistic about the renewal of Ganglands for season II.
