Netflix Pulls The Plug On Emmy Winning Series Country Comfort Season 2 – Why?

Netflix Original series Country Comfort will not be getting a second season on Netflix. But the major question is why would Netflix cancel a highly successful Primetime Emmy winning series?

Created by Caryn Lucas, Country Comfort is the 20th sitcom that was labelled as a Netflix Original. But say no more as Netflix has pulled the plug before season II came!

The musical-comedy series could not last long in the Top 10 list across the world and that gave Netflix a fair enough reason to not renew it for another season.

In the past, we have seen that shows have to spend at-least 28-30 days to have a chance at renewal. Country Comfort season I maintained it’s position in the Top 10s in the US for just 11 days.

Eddie Cibrian says that the decision for season II was made in early 2021. He said:

“We are getting so close to finding out about what y’all have been asking for…Season 2!! So, this weekend we need all you Country Comforters (just made that name up) to watch, rewatch, tell others to watch and rewatch, so we can make the decision for Netflix and Netflix Family an easy one!”

Storyline Of The Show

Being a Primetime Emmy Winning show did not help because Netflix likes the numbers. If the viewership isn’t meeting the threshold then the show is likely to be axed.

Talking about the storyline of Country Comfort, it revolves around an aspiring and young country singer Baily.

Baily takes a job as a nanny for the rugged cowboy Beau. The previous nine nannies struggled to contend with Beau’s five children, but Bailey’s addition fills the mother-shaped hole missing in their lives. While it is confirmed that season II will not be coming on Netflix, fans and followers who expected the story to continue further would be disappointed.
