What If…? Official Guardians Of The Multiverse Poster Is Released
In a reference to Guardians of the Galaxy, Marvel has published a new poster for What If…? that features the entire Guardians of the Multiverse crew. During the last episode 9 of the Disney+ series, the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s newest squad of surprising heroes was assembled.
The team was established by the Watcher (Jeffrey Wright) to face the threat posed by Ultron, who used the Infinity Stones to endanger the very fabric of the universe.

In What If.? episode 9, The viewers believe he won’t be able to battle the powerful Infinity Ultron (Ross Marquand), so he assembles a band of heroes from the alternate worlds he’s seen during the series with the help of Doctor Strange Supreme (Benedict Cumberbatch).
The crew fought the mechanical threat, which included Star-Lord T’challa (Chadwick Boseman), Captain Carter (Hayley Atwell), Thanos-Killer Gamora (Cynthia McWilliams), Party Thor (Chris Hemsworth), King Killmonger (Michael B. Jordan), and Black Widow (Lake Bell). The squad was first teased in early leaked items, and was finally brought together in the What If…? season 1 finale, and is now featured in a new piece of promotional art.

The artwork by Dorothea Taylor, which was shared by the official What If..? Twitter account, depicts the complete multiversal squad together under the eyes of The Watcher and the team’s name. The Guardians of the Multiverse’s whole lineup was displayed against a mechanical backdrop, with the Watcher’s phrase, “You Have Been Chosen,” positioned underneath.
The team’s pose is a reference to the first Guardians of the Galaxy film, which featured a scene in which John C. Reilly’s Nova officer, Rhomann Dey, read out each member’s profile to his superior, Garthan Saal, in Nova Corps captivity (Peter Serafinowicz).
With a trailer for The Making of What If..? hinting connections to the MCU’s future, many fans are wondering if the Guardians of the Multiverse will return following What If..? episode 9. T’challa’s incarnation of Star-Lord was the subject of early ideas for a spin-off series, while Thanos-Killer Gamora’s story will be revealed in What If…? season 2, after her episode was deleted from season 1 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Future episodes may revisit characters, though showrunners Bryan Andrews and A.C. Bradley have suggested that the focus would be primarily on fresh stories.
