Tove Lo reveals she secretly married Charlie Twaddle in surprise wedding announcement

Tove Lo just got hitched! The Swedish pop icon took to her Instagram Stories on Saturday to reveal she had secretly tied the knot with longtime partner, Charlie Twaddle.

“Oops! @seetwaddle,” the artist cheekily captioned the photo of herself with her new husband. The couple put on adorably surprised faces in a candid selfie, proudly displaying their wedding bands for the camera.

Her 1.8 million fans got a glimpse of the couple’s wedding attire as well. The bride seemed to be wearing a vintage wedding gown with a scalloped lace neckline, intricate embroidery and delicate sleeves. She also accessorized with drop earrings, a jewel-adorned headband and a Victorian-style necklace that had a massive crystal dangling in the center.

Fans got a better view of Twaddle’s ensemble, who donned a powder blue tux with a matching bow tie and a ruffled button-down shirt. Both Lo and Twaddle let their brunette locks down for the ceremony.

“Your hint of weirdness matches my sprinkle of crazy”

The singer’s wedding announcement comes just a month after she gushed about Charlie being the ‘love of her life,’ in a birthday post. On June 25, the Cool Girl singer celebrated her beau’s birthday with a series of sweet photos on Instagram. She captioned the mini gallery, “Happy birthday to the love of my life @seetwaddle.”

The year before that, she penned a romantic letter to Twaddle, calling him “my person.”

“No one makes me laugh more than you. And I feel so lucky I get to create with you and see the world together,” gushed the singer. “‘I love your massive head and your big smile. You’re the most generous, loving human (with a hint of weirdness which matches my sprinkle of crazy ????.)’ She added, ‘You’re my person. Jag älskar dig Charlie I hope you have the best birthday!!.. though I’m sitting next to you waiting on a delayed flight lol ❤️.’

“I feel we are children ourselves so we just can’t”

Despite her open, often provocative lyrics, Tove Lo has kept pretty quiet about her personal life. She opened up about the pair’s relationship in a 2019 interview, however, the singer confessed that they weren’t ready to get married just yet. “I guess I’ve found the person, and he is the same age as me, but I feel we are children ourselves so we just can’t.”

She continued speaking about their relationship, without mentioning Twaddle by name. “LA is where I met my boyfriend, although he is from New Zealand. He is a creative but not a musician and with his job he can travel with me. The first year we were together, I was touring like crazy. But, whenever I had time off, I flew back to LA to see him, no matter where I was.”

The Grammy-nominated artist added: “I would make up excuses and tell him I had another reason to come back so as not to put pressure on him!” However, it seems like times have changed since the happy couple are now officially husband and wife.

Tove Lo is known for her biggest hits like, Habits (Stay High), Talking Body and Close with Nick Jonas. The singer also has writing credits on a bunch of popular songs. Love Me Like You Do by Ellie Goulding, Homemade Dynamite by Lorde, and Cool by Dua Lipa, to name a few.
