Tom Holland Praises Zendaya For Being His Celebrity Life Coach

Tom Holland praised his Spider-Man co-star, Zendaya as he explained how she helped him as his life was changing. The actors shared screen for the first time for Spider-Man: Homecoming.

The film was released back in 2017 as it launched both of them into another level of fame. If you watch the sequel, Spider-Man: Far From Home, Zendaya played a more prominent role in the MCU. Her character, MJ, gets closer to Peter Parker and the two end the movie in a very different place than it began.

The relationship between the characters, Peter and MJ, is something fans want MCU to explore further in Spider-Man 3. The upcoming movie is still in production. However, the chemistry the duo shares is a big reason why their characters work really well together.

Tom opened up about their equation in an interview with Backstage as he went into detail about how much she has helped him. He shared that he, Jacob Batalon, and Zendaya became best friends when they started shooting the first Spider-Man.

The actor explained how helpful Zendaya was in the process of his life-changing. He said, “She was so helpful in the process of my life-changing because not only are you making big films and you’re traveling the world, but everyone starts to know who you are. And you have to behave differently.”

The Marvel hero further added that there is a responsibility to uphold the idea of being a role model to young kids. He shared that Zendaya is best at that and one cannot find anything against her. The actor described her as a “perfect person.

“…she’s kind of like the perfect person”

Tom said, “You have a responsibility to kind of uphold this idea of being a role model to young kids. And, arguably, she’s the best at that. You can’t really find anything against Zendaya, she’s kind of like the perfect person. It was so wonderful to have someone like her in my corner, to help me grow through that process.”

The Spider-Man alum further added that he has made mistakes and went through a phase where he hated taking pictures. He shared what Zendaya taught him and gave him advice. The actor shared, “I went through a phase where I hated taking pictures with people, and I was like, “No, no, no, leave me alone!” She really taught me, she was like, ‘That would probably stress you out more than saying yes and being nice about it.’

Tom recalled as he said how right she was and made the whole process much “nicer”. He further said how having her as a friend has been valuable to the success and happiness of his career and life.

The actor’s remarks are because of the different experiences Zendaya has had in the entertainment industry. She had started her career as a child model and backup dancer before gaining a bigger spotlight. All thanks to her Disney series, Shake It Up as she was playing the role of Rocky Blue.

Disney stars have an intense fandom as the likes of Selena Gomez and Miley Cyrus can give you an idea. Zendaya was more accustomed to dealing with outsized celebrities. As for Tom, before being MCU’s Spider-Man, he was only limited to be seen in historical dramas and family thrillers.
