TimTheTatman Quits Twitch And Signs Exclusive Deal To Stream On YouTube
Twitch fans aren’t the happiest currently as YouTube succeeds in poaching some of their talents and housing them on their platform.
Recently, Twitch Streamer Dr. Lupo moved away from Twitch in an exclusive deal to stream on YouTube. Now, it seems like Twitch fame ‘TimTheTatman’ has followed suit.
TimTheTatman is one of the finest and most popular Twitch streamers on the planet. His exit from Twitch (to officially join YouTube Gaming) comes as a blow to Amazon-owned Twitch. He has over 7 million fans on Twitch.
‘It’s Going To Be A Change’
In an exclusive interview with tabloid Business Insider, TimTheTatman commented “I know it’s going to be a change and there are people that don’t like change. But sometimes change ends up being a better thing.”
He also took to his official Twitter account to share the news with his fans. Tim posted a fun, music-laden video talking about his ‘future’ being a streamer. Have a look at the video he shared:
YouTube Gaming has been successful in cracking deals with some of the best Twitch streamers to shift to the Google-owned Platform such as Dr Lupo, Valkyrae, and CoUrage Dunlop.
Why Did He Leave Twitch?
But why would TimTheTaman leave his 7 Million followers on Twitch to go and stream on YouTube where he has just a little over 3 million subscribers? He explains “I’d say seven to eight out of 10 people coming up to me go, ‘Man, I love your YouTube,’” he said. “I have more followers on Twitch but a lot of people day-to-day call me a YouTuber.”
In the exclusive interview with Business Insider, TimTheTatman also talks about his family obligations and how it has an impact on his Twitch streams. “When I started, I had no family obligations and I could [stream] a lot of hours, The reality is, now that I’ve got my wife and my son, it’s hard for me to stream as much as I did beforehand,” he said.
TimTheTatman will hold his first stream on YouTube as an exclusive YouTube Gaming streamer tomorrow, September 2, 2021. Tell us your thoughts in the comments.
