TikToker Ray Lin Howard Goes Viral After Being Kicked Out Of Alaska Airlines
Alaska resident, Ray Lin Howard had shared an unfortunate incident on TikTok. The clip showed her being kicked off of a flight for being “fat, tattooed and mixed-race”. She claimed that she was kicked out because her stomach was showing while being seated.
But things seem to have turned out as she has garnered over 1.3 million views after sharing the incident on her TikTok. The influencer shared the experience that had taken place in Alaska Airlines on September 3. She had posted the TikTok on her Instagram page as well.
Ray was boarding the flight wearing biker shorts and a crop top. The flight attendant allegedly harassed her for her attire. Airport officers were escorting her through the airport as she recorded. She shared, “I was harassed about my outfit — I put my shirt back on. They asked me to put my shirt back on. [So] I put my shirt back on, and then, they approached me again, saying that I can’t wear this, my stomach is showing — and it’s inappropriate.”
However, even after being asked to cover herself and her putting on a shirt, it wasn’t enough. The TikToker also shared that she was wearing a sports bra underneath but the authorities found a way to her again. They approached her for the third time and Ray added, “If you’re going to kick me off, kick me off. I’ve done what you asked me to do. I want you to leave me alone.”
Alaska Airlines Being Called Out Twice
The musician had to perform a show which is why she pleaded with the authorities to let her go. But Ray wasn’t allowed to board the flight again. She was heard saying on her TikTok that she felt she was being discriminated against for being a fat, tattooed and mixed-race woman. The TikToker added that it left her feeling “anger, disappointment, helplessness, humiliation and confusion”.
She further made another TikTok where she shared, “Throughout my life as a fat person, I’ve had to deal with fatphobia, especially growing up in the Midwest — but not to this degree.” However, Alaska Airlines have stated that they are in contact with Ray and are committed to finding out what happened. They added, “It’s our goal to provide caring service to all of our guests. When we don’t live up to that goal, we do everything we can to make it right.”
But this is not the first time the airline is getting called out. Just last month, Tiktoker Sierra Steadman had accused them of harassing her because of her attire. The youngster was wearing a crop top with a pair of shorts while flying, which angered the flight attendants.
