Suicide Squad 2 & Loki: Most Anticipated DC Movie & Marvel Show

Suicide Squad 2 and Loki are the most highly anticipated Marvel and DC movie and show according to the data provided by IMDb. The Suicide Squad by James Gunn releases this summer in theaters and on HBO Max. The venture has topped the charts as the most anticipated movie from DC.

It is described as a soft reboot of David Ayer’s Suicide Squad from 2016. James’ follow-up will bring back few of the iconic characters from the original movie. This will include Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn and Viola Davis’ Amanda Waller. The venture will be introducing a bunch of new antiheroes to Task Force X. These new comers include John Cena and Idris Elba as Peacemaker and Bloodsport.  

Meanwhile, Loki has topped IMDb’s list of the most anticipated Marvel show. The show is also premiering this summer. The series will naturally revolve around the God of Mischief and Thor’s adopted brother. Loki is played by Tom Hiddleston and the series will be his solo outing after the events of Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame.

The character died in Infinity War but Endgame opened up an opportunity for his character to have an alternate timeline version of Loki. His character escapes with the Tesseract during the Avengers’ time-traveling to-do. The Disney+ series is also set to introduce the Time Variance Authority led by Owen Wilson’s Mobius.

IMDb provided a compiled Internet Movie Database in honor of National Superhero Day. There was a list of top 10 movies and another list of shows which are highly anticipated. The Suicide Squad, Black Widow, and The Batman claimed the top 3 positions on the list of superhero movies. While the miniseries’ top three included Marvel’s Loki, What If…?, and Hawkeye.

IMDb has made the list based on page views from over 200 million monthly users.

The original movie of Suicide Squad was a commercial success after garnering over $740 million worldwide. Fans are likely expecting James’ new version of Suicide Squad to make up for Ayer’s perceived failure. Meanwhile, Marvel is striding the web series world after the success of WandaVision, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Loki might be the most anticipated merely because it is the next MCU show. But Loki is surely to be different because it is expected to be a changing pace for Marvel as it is featuring a villain as the lead.
