Ryan Reynolds celebrates the success of Red Notice on its first day with a HILARIOUS shoutout to Taylor Swift

Ryan Reynolds is pleased with the opening day performance of Red Notice, which premiered on Netflix on November 12. The actor rushed to Instagram to share a photo of his film starring Dwayne Johnson and Gal Gadot having the largest opening day ever on Netflix. Reynolds expressed his joy on Instagram and joked, “Can’t wait for Taylor’s version.”

Reynolds is a good friend of Taylor Swift, and it’s a well-known truth that Lively and his family are big Swiftie fans. Given the massive success of Taylor Swift’s second re-recorded album, Red (Taylor’s Version), Reynolds wanted to offer a special shoutout to his friend in the most humorous way possible.

In a post celebrating the success of Red Notice, the actor wrote, “WOW, @Netflix’s largest-ever opening day for a film is #RedNotice. Congratulations to the entire team! I’m looking forward to Red Notice (Taylor’s version).” Ryan’s Swiftie joke earned a lot of appreciation from fans, who gave it a thumbs up.

Swift is known to be close to Ryan and Blake, and the couple’s daughters, James, Inez, and Betty, have already been mentioned in one of her songs. Not to note, it was the song “Betty” by Taylor Swift that first revealed the name of his and Lively’s youngest kid. During an interview with SiriusXM’s Jess Cagle, Ryan reacted to Taylor mentioning his girls in her song by saying, “We thought it was beautiful, just stunning. We continue to do so.”

Shocking Budget For Red Notice

It has long been fashionable in Hollywood to brag about a film’s budget, with the logic that the bigger the budget, the bigger the action and spectacle. While this is true for filmmakers like James Cameron and Christopher Nolan, movie costs can easily spin out of control for a variety of reasons, and the resulting price tag isn’t always reflected on screen.

Netflix’s original film budgets have been constantly increasing, with $90 million spent on Bright in 2017, $155 million for Triple Frontier in 2019, and $159 million for The Irishman in 2019. (due to its CGI de-aging). Red Notice is now Netflix’s most expensive film, and there are a variety of reasons for this.

A considerable portion of the budget for Red Notice was spent on obtaining its A-list cast. Dwayne Johnson, Ryan Reynolds, and Gal Gadot were all paid $20 million to star in the film, while Netflix paid Thurber $10 million to write and direct it.
