Ryan Reynolds Asks Young People in B.C. to Stop Partying Amid COVID-19 Pandemic

Ryan Reynolds does way more than just roasting Hugh Jackman. He had an important message to share with the youth. The actor urged young people to stop partying in British Columbia.

Ryan posted an audio recording in response to B.C. Premier John Horgan. He was asked to encourage people to stay indoors amid the global pandemic. And just like we know him to be, the actor delivered a cheeky, yet efficient, response.

Ryan started off with a joke saying he does not think it is a good idea that people like him give medical advice. He further jokingly said that unless it is plastic surgery, he cannot give advice. The actor said a lot of people don’t know that he used to be Hugh Jackman.

“And of course, it’s terrible that it affects our most vulnerable,” he continued. “B.C., that’s home to some of the coolest older people on Earth.” The actor went on to say David Suzuki lives there and also his mom. He continues, “She doesn’t want to be cooped up in her apartment all day. She wants to be out there cruising Kitsilano Beach looking for some young 30-something Abercrombie burnout to go full Mrs. Robinson on. She is insatiable.”

Ryan further jokes that he hopes people in B.C. do not kill his mom or David Suzuki or themselves. He further continued and said he loves parties and his favorite thing to do is drink jin and watch 32 seasons of Gossip Girl. “That’s a party,” he said, before signing off.

On Friday, Global News reported that British Columbia has seen an increase in COVID-19 cases. It is “mainly linked to people in their 20s and 30s”. Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry expressed concern that the spread “is linked to parties indoors where guests are drinking and often don’t know each other before the event.”

Meanwhile, Ryan Reynolds has officially launched his very own streaming platform, Mint Mobile+, named after the wireless company that Reynolds promotes as a brand ambassador.

Reynolds, who bought an ownership stake in Mint Mobile last year, announced the launch of his spoof streaming service on Twitter. He posted an ad for Mint Mobile+ introducing an all-new platform that offers “80 minutes” of “bingetastic unoriginal” to stream in “2003 DVD quality.”
