Ronit Roy reveals that he is selling things to support 100 families amid lockdown
Actor Ronit Roy has lashed out at the production houses for not paying the actors on time in this tough time!
This lockdown has been tough on many people. But there are still many who have gone out of their way to support others. One such person is the actor Ronit Roy. He has revealed that his payments are due since January. But still he is trying to support families by selling things.
Talking to ETimes, he said, “Personally, I haven’t made money since January. I have a small business which was running, and is now shut since March. Whatever I have, I am selling things to support about 100 families that I am responsible for.”
He added on saying that he is not a very rich man, but still he is doing it. “So, these production houses and channels who have these big, lavish offices which are visible from 2 kms away from a highway, they need to do something. They have to take care of the people on the ground. At a time like this if they don’t take care of the actors then it’s not fair. You have to pay them after 90 days, but they need now, give it to them now. They can’t stay hungry. It’s on both sides,” he added.
This lockdown has also seen people taking their own lives after they feel helpless. Recently the actor Manmeet Grewal committed suicide because of unemployment and the difficulties he was facing.
Ronit talked about such issues too in these difficult circumstances. According to him, everyone at some point in life faces a financial crisis. But he says that killing oneself is not a solution. He adds that he doesn’t see any sense in taking one’s own life because that can’t be a solution.
