Pia Wurtzbach, 2015 Miss Universe, and businessman Jeremy Jauncey officially confirmed they were dating. On Monday, June 1, The Filipino edition of Tatler magazine debuted the cover of their June issue. It featured businessman and Tatler Asia’s travel editor, Jeremy Jauncey and 2015 Miss Universe, Pia Wurtzbach. Tatler Philippines Instagram confirmed speculations about the couple dating. Dubbed “the hottest pair in the universe,” the couple was shot by noted fashion photographer Nigel Barker, of America’s Next Top Model fame.
“There was an immediate spark”
The couple talks about their relationship and the challenges they face while having full schedules and jet-setting lifestyles. In the interview for the cover, Jeremy recalled how Pia “blew [him] away” when they first met in London. “There was definitely an immediate spark. We couldn’t stop talking. I found him to be such a warm person and I like that he was always smiling,” Pia said.
Though there was the immediate spark, it took awhile for the couple to start dating exclusively. Pia had just come out of a relationship and Jeremy wanted to give her space. Pia amicably ended her relationship with race car driver Marlon Stockinger in September 2019.
The couple talked about wanting to give their relationship a good “foundation” before they made it public. Jeremy confessed that he’d always felt a close connection to the Filipinos because they had always been kind to him. “So to all detectives out there, thank you! We knew how much we liked each other. But we wanted to spend quality time with each other and build something strong before we made any official announcements.” Pia added, “I’ve made the mistake of sharing too much too soon before, and I wanted to make sure I did it right this time.”
Rumors and speculations
This isn’t Pia’s first time talking about her beau. The model and actress had spoken about her relationship with Jeremy in a March interview with Mega Magazine. Although she didn’t name him then. “I’m happy, I’m inspired, I feel very empowered. I feel like I can be myself and I don’t have to water myself down,” she said.
Rumors and speculations about the couple had been circulating on social media for months. Fans were quick to notice similarities in their posts from Indonesia early this year. Jeremy had also accidentally shown followers photos of himself and Pia together in an Instagram story.
